Google Sketchup is a great tool... To bad I'm stuck with the alternatives because I run Linux. Looking forward to seeing your designs.

Does Sketchup not run under Wine?? I haven't tried, but I don't know why it wouldn't...

One room 3.5x2.5 meters

OK here it is, i just finished!!
i think this room is aimed more at beginners like myself.
Here we go!!:rasta2:

The Room is divided into 3 sections so use your imagination for light proof barriers (pastic/light proof anything, two power sockets one on each side of the room.

1)Flowering Room

-CO2,
-1000w Hps + ballast (mounted on the wall),
-Squirrel cage fan with exhaust (out to window which is located by the clone/flower room).
-wall mount oscillating fan,
-PPM/PH/Temp meter,
-AeroFlo60
-powerstrip

2)Veg/mother Room

-600w Mh +ballast (mounted on the wall)
-mothers in DWC buckets, or soil
-oscillating fan,
-powerstrip,

3)Clone/Flower room (using this room for new clones and flower some trees *duh*) making my own shitty reflector so i can switch out a small 250 hps or CFL. i'll be making seeds, or cross breeding strains in this room when i'm not cloning with the CFL.

-Ez-cloner 60
-home made hood for light
-250 HPS + ballast
-CFL
-Timer
-no fan (just worried about pollen getting everywhere, i'm so scared of those little guys) and when i'm cloning i'll just keep that room open.

Thanks to the internet, thanks to sketch up, i have an idea how far $3000 will take me. finding the dimensions was a bit time staking though, suppliers don't always list the dimensions of their products. you gotta dig around for that but the plus side to it is you get some extra information about what your buying along the way.

I have already played with multiple options of how i could have set this up. probably/hopefully saved me some time on labors work, and before hand i can go in and do the frame work first and i know exactly where i need to mount the lights, ballast, fans, powerstrips, ventilation, co2, and another important thing would be the wiring. i don't know how many times i get things setup and i need to rearrange wires and pipes and who knows what. I just don't have the experience to fore see future problems.

yeah you could do the same thing with a tape measure, pencil, paper, but like i said i think you still need some experience to guide you along. In 3D i have a pretty good idea what's going on here.

I wish i could follow up this post with pictures of the future product but it's too risky in my general region, since local internet is monitored quite closely here. gotta be safe or i'm gonna be sorry. posting on a 420 site has got me paranoid enough.

the reason i'm posting is i'm still quite a noob, beginner, and i grow weak bud. could use all the advice i can get. hopefully i caught some veterans eye with my plans. i need guidance!!!! I just need help as far as grow room design goes.

nice sketch man but if you are running CO2 then you dont want to exhaust air from your room outside... what you want to do is connect the other end of that hood to another piece of ducting and draw air from another room past your light outside... that way your not exhausting odour or Co2....

if you are bringing air in i could see why you would exhaust but if you are using co2 then you want to close off your room probably, although i know some guys do use co2 and still draw a bit of air from the outside in... but never exhaust the air from inside out... at specially without carbon scrubbing it jesh! maybe you live in amsterdam!

yo chrometrichs,
took about a week or 2 of sleepless night. took about a week of evenings to follow googles tutorials jst the basic tuts. i made it look nicer than needed, but i feel like the more detail i have well the less i'll miss in the execution stage. Sketchup is just useful because you can work in real life measurements example inches, meters, mm, feet.
