I've been using an Autopilot CO2 controller. Went into my room the other night and noticed an orangeish/reddish light blinking on the inside of the sniffer. Shit was a like a caution light blinking on and off all night in the room. I called my local store and he got on the phone with Hydrofarm to which they said that they had brought that to Autopiliots attention when they (Hydrofarm) purchased it but was told the light does NOT effect plants. Well it does effect plants and I've gotten in touch with one of the designers at Hydrofarm and am waiting for his proof that this damn blinking light doesn't effect plants that need total darkness. I've solved this issue in the meantime by putting the controller on a timer, but the more I think about it the more I wonder why the fuck I should have to put a 400$ controller on a damn timer...they need to fix this shit. So to anyone usuin an Autopilot CO2 Fuzzy Logic controller beware of the light! MGG
Depending on how strong that blinking red light is.. Red light will only slow down the internal clock.
Anyone that want's to prove to themselves that your plant will and I repeat will flower using red light during your dark time (530nm's and up) .. Try this simple test.
Get yourself 3 or 4 red cfl party bulbs from any hemp depot. Take a clone that has been rooted and put it under just those red cfl party bulbs on 24hrs of light.. Yes I said 24hrs of light. Plz come back in here and post your results.. Of course I already know the results.. But plz feel free to try it..
Wile your at it.. Take 4 Blue cfl party bulbs and do the same with another clone in a separate room. Put them both the red cfl party bulbs and the blues on a 24hr lighting cycle... Wait don't bother with the blue light we all know that wont do nothing but veg a plant.. Sorry for sounding like a smart ass but I'm just trying to make a valid point. Again the blue light is not a part of the test other then mental. Just trying to get you thinking.
But after the RED light test results are in you will have many many questions as why it vegged for a wile and then flowered under those RED cfl party bulbs on a 24hr lighting cycle.. Now if you have enough patients to let her finish.. You will find the plant will be small but the potency is through the roof. Of course this takes the clone aprox 6 months to finish, but my point is red light does very very strange things. But one of them is not causing hermies or pulling your girls out of flowering..
If you would like to find out more about red light and it's effects on the darkness.. Try googling PAD lighting. "Photo Synthetic Artificial Darkness" Unfortunately in the past yr or so.. It looks like
university's are trying to make fuel using photo synthetic artificial light. So only bother reading the stuff that pertains to the MMJ plant. Otherwise you'll be reading how to make fuel instead of how to make more potent girls.. :banghead:[
Just trying to help..
X2, I'm just over it. with all the cheap ass shit that's sold at the Hydro stores, I just laugh when I walk in the doors at theses places anymore, there more Shit the you can shake a stick at, that you will never need or could use..LMFAO ...:rolleyes:So what I'm hearing from all this is that some cheapshit, two-bit, jerk company started selling some cheap crap 'green' lights that actually spill out any number of non green wavelengths. You are absolutely correct- don't buy it, don't use it. But then it seems we've gone away from that completely and are now telling people to buy Red spectrum lights - without any consideration of the cheapshit two-bit crap company they are made by.
Lets start over- buy yourselves some quality green lights for after hours work. Anyone care to recommend a quality green bulb?
