Any HVAC folks out there? Even with just the funny little window units? I’ve come to a cross roads here and the damned devil himself never showed up! Hahahaah! Lookin at shutting her down, cant keep things cool enough with out the AC, even when it’s cooler outside. I’ve probably got another week or two at the most. Maybe I’ll just veg things out there and give them away when they’re ready to flower!🤣

the unit itself is cycling fine with the cooling but the fan runs continuously, like until I turn the unit off continuously hahaha. I’ve cleaned the air filter. but beyond that I dont know anything else about them or how I might be able to fix it.

super bummed, as I finally got my power upgraded and the veg room insulated AAAANNNNDDDD the bomb ass strains to run under my new Phlizon from Dadman! oh yeah, that pill hurt to swallow : / go outside you say? hahah! love the optimism but I dont get enough sun to really get a good outdoor run. ill try it but man its hard to put efforts into shit you know isn’t going to amount to anything. kind of like the last few runs I’ve done with my DIY led. dug real deep for that optimism LOL! pretty much running on empty at this point.

❤️✌️
How many btu’s is the air conditioner, and what is the square footage of the shed?
You might be trying to cool too large an area with not enough of a machine.
Also another idea is to vent hot air out of the shed completely and intake fresh air into the shed. Air conditioning works by removing humidity from the air, but also uses a constant process of running a refrigerant through a a condenser in a gas state then compresses it into a liquid and so on and so on. Low refrigerant would cause a constant on/off operation of the compressor. Where as high humidity would cause a constant need to remove moisture from the air? Most window units as well as car units will have a fresh air exchange option vs a recirculating option.
The recirculating option will only cool the air inside the room, where as the fresh air vents being open allows the use of fresh air for the cooling process.
Im not an hvac guy, just explaining things in layman terms as I understand them. Hopefully this helps??

And I’m with everyone else don’t shut her down you’ve come so far sometimes it pays to shut down for a month during the hottest parts of summer I try to but I grow in a tin shed it’s lookin awesome up in there and weed plants can deal with all sorts of temps to hot ya just water more 😂👍
Exactly, there’s things that can implemented in your grow for the hotter months.
Silica can be used to strengthen cell walls which will help with water retention
Kelp can also help alleviate symptoms from heat stress
Carbon dioxide will allow higher heat tolerance as long as light and watering are dialed in

You wanna know how important that air conditioner is to him! Within four hours after it started malfunctioning, he was up on a ledge ready to jump! You guys had to talk him down! That’s how important that air conditioner is! Pulling for you, brother!❤️

You guys must have got some snow up there in the storm. We have a boat launch at Kissack Bay again! 🤣

Odele amigos! I only went a few posts up. Are you using a portable unit? They usually stay running the fan constantly and when the thermostat kicks on you will hear the high pitched sound of the ac unit clicking indicating the switch to cooling rather than a circulating fan.

Monday check in. Things are moving along. Im looking at repotting the NLM86’ to a promix style media and get it out of the soil its in, i believe it has become compacted and is starting to show on the lower plant. Also im going to try and get he T1000’s out of the smaller containers in soil into the 2 gallon pots i have with the promix like medium. Almost forgot about up potting the two little HK’s that are still in solos (not sure what the plan was with those🤣) but they are both female and im going to flip them for some flower! : )

I turned the @PhlizonGrowLight Dad gave up to about 95% and dropped it a few inches : ) I still cant believe how freaking bright the bigger lights are! i was really impressed with the 100watt spider farmer! so getting a bit bigger real grow light has me in awe lol! Thank you again @Dadman86 ❤️✌️ may the ganja spirits bless you and your harvest with great yields! : )

The yellow level is four feet. It’s more impressive being there in person LOL!
And the pic of the light dial is set at 10 but was dialed back to around the 9-9.5 range : ) also i turned the UV switch on!🤷‍♂️ cooooome oooooon red lights! hahahah!

I am in love with those buttons

How’s @BearWater doing today? Hopefully better than yesterday, don’t give up brother, there’s a whole bunch of us putting our heads together trying to help you figure this shit out.
I was thinking about it last night, besides the ac issue, about things that can help mitigate the heat in your shed.
One thing that might help is painting the shingles on the roof a lighter color if they are dark. Same goes with the exterior.
Something else that might help is a good shade tree that will prevent the sun from beating down on your shed.
I also think that venting hot air, rather than recirculating and trying to cool it might be beneficial.
Hopefully these ideas are helpful.

Appreciate all the love! : ) definitely going to push through the best I can (rather the AC as best it can😂)

Chucky is right on all fronts! LOL! really did almost turn it all off, you guys guilted me into keeping it running! 🖕🤣 im kidding. ill show you the results though (don’t want to talk about it right now) and the shed will get hot AF during the day lights on or off. I always go as dark as I possibly can with “plan for the worst hope for the best”, it sucks, but with that i come up with potential solutions. one of which i remember someone here talking about running ducting under the shed for many feet and that would be enough to cool the air (i know thats relative or whatever) but it would be worth a shot. was imagining it coming in handy also if i ever decide to run a closed hps system, suck cool air from under the floor into that. 🤷‍♂️ lots of high ass ramblings and ideas floating around from my end. so I do appreciate the legit feedback for solutions : )

I have been looking at some alternate cooling systems, portable ACs and other window units. I might be able to pull some strings and swipe the company card at some point, but dont tell upper management, really dont want to have to deal with those emails!😝

but getting back on track, big picture. things in the veg room will go to flower no later than the 1st.( I dont care how hot it gets I’ll try until they die!) cuttings will be taken from the frostettes, and the Cali blues will be going outdoors scratch the overzealous idea of popping more seeds for outdoor! dont have the resources or sunlight for all that in the back yard LOL!

Love yuh McFly! ❤️✌️ yeah man im scheming on some things also! I just had to get that “poor me” BS out of the way! ahahah. seriously, this project has been so touch and go the entire time, this ac hiccup was a gut punch lol! so thanks for the grounding! : )
read my post above in regards to heat mitigation ideas! : ) I have done some sun cover stuff already! i like the way you think : ) I was thinking about adding a shade cloth to the front of the whole damn shed! hahaha! its cool and raining right now so ill get some pics later ( i know im tripping over heat and its fucking raining hahaha!)

✌️

Yeah man let's dig that trench! I'm still running that idea through my brain btw.

We're all rooting hard for you! 💚

Thanks man! : ) im going to start looking for parts, and figuring out if fixing this thing is something im able to do/worth it. So far all the relay parts and stuff seem pretty reasonably priced.

What up homie!? : ) im using a window ac. I hear the “AC” part kick on and what not per the thermostat, seems like it’s set correctly for temp. But the fan will run run run and run without shutting off. I have read there are different settings for run time on the fan but havent looked any deeper than that. Will definitely keep you posted : )

Hey Bear, I haven't checked on your post about it but, do you have a air vent in your shed? I have a couple in mine to help on over heating.

I know where you are coming from, trust me. I live in a mobile home with an added four season porch , that in the infinite wisdom of the original builder wasn’t insulated. The temperature differential is extreme in the summer and winter months 10-20 degrees warmer and cooler in respective terms. This creates a giant heat sink in the summer that is a major bitch to deal with. I have to balance human and pet comforts with the environment in my grow room, which regularly exceeds 90-95 degrees daily. Running an air conditioner isn’t an option in that room because of the load it places on the circuit breaker.
So I’ve learned techniques to get around these situations, one thing that I hadn’t mentioned is having the lights off during the day here it’s at the hottest 1pm-6pm after that the suns no longer beating directly on the house.
I like the idea of a cool air intake by burying the inlet ducts, it’s a low cost solution to getting cool fresh air, more labor intensive than anything. I would recommend using a galvanized stove pipe and some sort of intake inline fan.
With a high mounted exhaust fan.

Hey Bear, I haven't checked on your post about it but, do you have an air vent in your shed? I have a couple in mine to help on over heating.
yeah there are the two end vents (gable vents?) I have had the thought of adding a smaller fan to one end just to get the air draw through there. Between the shade throughout the day and overall temp not really going above 95 i think that would be a little bit of gladly excepted help : ) I have an inlet circular fan that draws outdoor air into the flower room. An exhaust fan out of the flower room into the veg room and currently no exhaust fan out of the veg room. Looking into using a fan I have in my stash to change that setup a little.
