Grow diary mission impossible (low to medium budget lol)

Little morning shot. Damn things are still in that dappled sun until about 1:00- 300 then back to dappled with a few spots in Between that. Then one final hurrah as the sun is going down hahaha! That’s only on about 3 plants though, and it’ll absolutely change through June and July

So now I’m on to my plants look hungry. Not sure if I should water or not and if I do water am I going to be adding some mega crop to it with some cal mag? hahaha! The soil has Gaia in it. But I could have put the wrong amount in on the low end.

That's what i had to deal with at my old place. Was shaped like a horseshoe surrounded by big old fir trees and i had about a 100ft square area for my veggies and weed pots. Almost never had a red slice of tomatoe LOL had to move those pots but i was stronger an younger then of course and did'nt mind it.

Yeah, weren’t we all! Six years ago, I was backpacking! Now I can barely hobble out to the playpen! Getting old, old, really happens quick! Lol! A lot of those injuries that you suffered when you were young and went away, come back with a vengeance and they ain’t going away now! and yes, I will have a little cheese with that whine!

Yeah it was breezy down in the valley early this morning. We had a little wind up here but nothing too bad : ) im hoping that the little bits of sun they do get through the trees will just make them that much more specialer!

Getting the pots up on those 4x4s and racks was a chore lol! Had the little one helping me while i was holding the pot. Like chucky says 6 years ago i would have been heaving them thangs and slanging the shit under’em with my foot! Hahahaha! It was still really fun working with him, we both had a good time : )

Had to mess with the chickens early this morning (between the five of them they have as many brain cells as i do!)
sun hadn’t even come up yet, just that morning glow you know? plants were stoked and ready for the day. again i really am out of my element here so im winging the shit out of it. do you guys that grow in pots outdoors feed them like you feed indoor? the guy i worked for just added food once or twice from a 55 gal tub. I’ve got two plants that were hungry to start so im wondering if they get the Gaia intime or if i should supplement. im just going to let them ride it out : )

25 gallon containers with about 20 gallons of soil. I added perlite also but I’m thinking on this large of a scale I would of needed to add like 2cf for it do anything

I can pick the whole thing up right now. Think heavy ice chest you can lift but not easily hahaha!

Pumice would work well outdoors, it doesn’t float to top of the soil when water like perlite does. If you followed the instructions with Gaia green as an amendment that’s like 60 tablespoons of the 444 per pot. You’ll probably wanna top dress as they start to flower with Gaia green bloom booster, not to be confused with Marty’s bloom booster signature hot sauce…….

Yeah I think they call for 3 tablespoons per gallon of soil when amending an inert growing medium like coco, or peat or promix. But if you’re top dressing then it’s 1 tablespoon per gallon of soil. So I guess I jumped the gun with those numbers without knowing what your growing medium is. I think you have mentioned getting a local nursery’s version of promix before but I could be wrong or have you confused with another member.

Alright here I am in the correct spot of the forum for posting a dairy (Thank you to the helpful members). !DISCLAIMER! I ramble at times and am easily distracted! And if I ever read as if I’m high as shit, I more than likely am. With that said Ill try and keep this thread on track and as intelligent as I can HAHAHA!

So as my intro on the other thread stated, I’m not completely new to growing but very new to solo indoor runs. The strains I have chose to go with are XX and Raskals OG non fem photoperiod. They are currently soaking, and will do so for about another 5 hours at which point ill get them in their paper towel germination station (grow container for pods with the plastic top and the pod organizer removed on a heat mat). From there the seedlings will be going into Fox farms Light Warrior with a blend of worm castings ONLY, i may or may not add some perlite to the entire mix to make it “lighter”.

Onto the “growing space”. I have 12x12ish prebuilt type shed that im making a 6x8 grow space within. it’ll make more sense if you read on and once I get it finished along with pics! Im using foam board insulation and 2x3s for reinforcements of the false walls and (germ room!) I know! ill get it finished in the next few days and post the pics. My lighting situation is less than ideal at the moment I have 12 4ft 42watt led full spectrum white light that i use for all my veggie start on a rack. I took that all apart and made my own rail to attach them all together as ”one light”. Im hoping to be able to get something more powerful in the future but at the moment that’s all im able to come up with, I’m confident it will get the plants to where they need to be by the time theyll require a “real” grow light. If that doesnt happen ill flower out with what i got.

The soil im using will be organic soil ill mix myself from the local worm/soil place. I honestly forgot the name of nutes im going to use (theres a whole regiment of them from start to finish), along with some added things along the way in the form of fish poop water and meals and guanos. Ill get a very detailed list of all of that as i acquire them and apply them.

as a finish to the diary intro I know its a little pipe dreamy, I have faith and have always been a half glass full type of person with a heavy dose of plan for the worst and hope for the best mentality even if the odds are stacked against me, so with that said I am also a very realistic person and can and will recognize a futile situation. Im very open to suggestions and input and any questions! thanks for reading!

Welcome! Sounds like a fun and creative setup. Your soil plan and lighting rig should get you through early growth just fine. Adding perlite is a good call. Keep us posted with pics, excited to see how it turns out!

What up Calvi! Thank you for checking my thread out! so you found the very first thread post for my grow dairy : ) if you go through the rest of the thread starting from where you are at the beginning you will see ALL the trials and tribulations! bro im getting kicked in the dick as we speak! its a long read so no hard feelings if you skip most of it lol! but there are some cool and neat how tos (things I’ve done wrong and wouldn’t recommend along the way)

so the soil was awesome! the nutes i chose to run were garbage lol! ( I had this idea i needed to mess with the grow the entire time) I was still finding my style and still am! way more dialed now though! My DIY led got me all the way through! i was quite impressed! NOW! im blasting strains with the fd9000 or something like that (true 1000w grow light) and my diy led cant hold a candle to this BAD MOTHER F’er! my results 3 weeks into flower or beyond amazing to me! : ) also i have changed the soil and nutes. so completely different from what you read at the start : )
