(I have this as "Grow Journal #2" but that's a little out of sequence, since #2 is in flower and #1 is in veg.)

Hey Folks!

I'm starting this journal when I'm already 3/4(ish) through the grow, so I'll be back filing a bunch of info.
This is my 3rd grow since end of summer / beginning of fall.

I just posted my first journal
here, but am really liking the community already, so I'm going to keep it up (ya'll are great).

Popping some seeds

Started off popping 5 (damp paper towel, covered by bowel, over heatmat set real low) but only 4 were successful.
Waited a few days, but then decided to try and pop one more since I was really shooting for 5 (successful)

Fast Forward 3 weeks, and I've got 5 girls happy in their 2 gallon containers. The one in the middle is the baby of the group (5th seed)

Moving into the Flowering tent

A Quick Pause for the Environment Stats

Tent: 3x3x7 Gorilla

Airflow:
  • Using 2 AC Infinity 6" Cloudline systems. One for boosting intake, and one for Exhaust.
  • I'm running this as a closed system for circulation and C02/Humidity/Temp efficiency

Lamps:
  • HLG Blackbird
  • HLG 30 UVA Supplemental

Drainage:
  • I have the tent sitting on a platform that I built.
  • I was able to drill a hole into it (and the bottom of the tent), so that I could put a drip tray at the inside base of the tent, allowing the runoff to flow into a tub below the platform.

Humidification:

  • Gravity running RO water into a humidifier that's pumping into the tent. Using RO because my city water is hard, and the mineral deposits being pushed into the air became problematic.
  • I wrapped the hose going into the tent ,so as to keep light bleed from traveling up the line and into the tent during dark cycles.
  • Once in the tent it gets distributed/diffused by an oscillating fan
  • And.. yeah... in need to de-fur that fan.. gross

CO2:
  • Titan Regulator
  • Hose running into tent, attached to fan sitting above canopy
  • Typically keeping levels between 1000-1100 ppm during light cycles

Controllers
  • C02: Inkbird
  • RH: Inkbird
  • Temp: Inkbird (not really controlling anything. Currently acting as a glorified thermometer)
  • Noticing a trend?....

Watering
  • I use RO, as my city water is brutal.
  • I add a cal/mag back into the water, so it doesn't leach it from the soil
  • I PH between 6.1 & 6.3

Back to the Plants

I had some 'Blueberry Muffins' running in my flowering tent. As soon as they finished, and were moved into the drying environment, I scrubbed the tent and then moved the 'Jelly Donutz' in.

Entered flowering tent:

4 Weeks old:

Lighting Cycle: 18/6
Lighting Strength: PAR 250
RH: Around 70%

They were really rocking some clown shoe sized leaves at this point.
They'd been topped for the first time 6-3 days earlier not all during the same day (not all were ready)
Watering was happening every 5 days or so. Top dressing nutrients every other watering, at half the manufacturers recommended amount.

Some defoliation, a raise in PAR, and dropping the SCROG
PAR -> 350-400

A week later I gave them a light defoliation.
This was earlier than I would typically do it, but they were getting silly.
They also received a second topping

This pic shows 2 before, and 3 after.

Then I dropped the SCROG.
It's a hard screen, which some folks say not to use, but it's worked for me so far.

20231203 194339

10 Days of Tuck
PAR -> 480-510

20231210 183859
20231210 205637

2nd Defoliation, some lollipoping, and flip to flower

It was getting to be a mess under the screen so time for some more defoliation, and a little lolly.

Before:
20231213 105800

After:

20231213 111228

You can also see the Gnat issue I'm dealing with on those yellow cards in the background.

Pretty clean now:
20231213 120659
20231213 122848

Then I set the lighting cycle to flip to flower, gave them a healthy watering/feeding (still Veg food), then left town for a few days to catch some shows!

...Now I'm taking a break from this journal, to enjoy the fruits of a prior harvest...
...Will continue it later on this evening...
