Alright guys. I’m taking it indoors. What’s the rundown on a grow room vs grow tents? Are tents necessary? Can you just use white walls in a room and be g2g?

Also anyone with info on whether the IR & UV light bar add ons from spider are worth it. How much benefits are you seeing?
Seems like a very short period of light to make a difference

If you can control the temp and humidity of the room it's basically the same as a tent. A tent is also very handy for those looking to contain the smell. Overall a tent is just a tiny room. A tiny room is more easy to control the humidity and temp of.

Depends on the size of the room and you'd probably need more watts in that room vs the tent. If your going for mass production, then room and go gangbusters with the lighting. Just for yourself, tent.

Another plus for a room would be that you can seal it and run CO². Tents not so much.

IMO, I would go room in almost every instance if I had the chance.

Room with multiple tents for multiple stages and runs if you got options like that use the room as a lung room for a veg and like two flower tents would be fuckin sick I think. If it’s just one room it’s only one stage of growth at a time. Unless you’re doing autos but those are wack lol

I basically veg in an open room in my basement then I have a flower tent that I rotate plants into.

Tent with a environmental controller, preferably ac infinity. Just trust me, unless you have a perfect climate, controlling the conditions of a tent with a lung room is farrrrr easier than managing a room by itself ✌️

Both excellent points. I've built grow rooms for clients for many years so I have a pretty decent grasp as far as how to construct a controllable one without a lung room but they do bring up very good points in regard to having tents in the basement and using the basement as a lung room.

If light leaks are a problem, then a tent inside a dark room is an extra layer of security in the event someone entered the room during the dark cycle and (gasp) turns the lights on. It's happened to many growers.

Otherwise, paint the walls white. Set up your climate controls and enjoy the most likely, larger space ....

This is what I do ^^^ I have 5 different tents inside the grow room. I have a veg tent (30" x 60") 2 flower tents (60" x 60" and 54" x 98") and a small tent that once upon a time I used for mushrooms. The grow room acts as my lung room. Each tent has their own climate controls.

I like my setup. It works for me. There's more than one way to run a home grow so run the way that is most comfortable for you. If that means one room ... run with it. Make it work for you.

I prefer a room with tents, but that's mostly because of how I grow, not the amount or stages as much.

The room has all my nutes and supplies, each tent has 15 gallon nute tank outside it with a humidifier, and dehumidifier. Putting all that In a tent eats up a lot of tent space. I've expanded into 2 rooms now each with 4x8 tents, and I have a room for drying.

If I could do watering manually, and wanted to have a smaller foor print, ide go with a tent, probably in the master bedroom.

So for my preference, I guess I would build a lung room that I could mostly control the environment, and use tents inside it. Only thing I don't really like about my lung room is the tents block some of the ceiling lights and it's a little hard to see in the room generally.

It is nice having my clone tent, mother tent, veg tent, flower tent. Everything just kinda flows from 1 tent to the next, and I couldn't do that without having rooms for the tents.

I made a 120x240cm grow cabinet, and painted it white inside with wet room paint.
I used 16 or 18mm boards in the project. What I can say is that it was easy to clean, and it was easy to mount equipment on the walls of the cabinet.
I will always build a cabinet that has the size that meets my needs.
I will never make a whole room unless I was a professional grower. The bigger the room, the more it requires to control the temperature and humidity. And if I were to make a whole room, I will build several small cabinets in there, so I can run different growing conditions for different plants.

I will be moving soon and plan to build a new 65x245cm grow cabinet, as the smaller size is better for my needs.

I blacked out the room that houses the tent. Because I'm registered to cultivate I can only grow my allotment and I grow for volume. If I wasn’t constrained I'd go for room. Depends on what you want to accomplish. You might want to follow Roadkillskunk and study his setup.

Lightning is going to be a big choice. Also, if you've a window in the room you blackout utilize it for fresh air intake and exhaust to the outside. To determine fan/cfm size calculate the cfm. This calculator might help:

If you like experimenting or trying different growing techniques, tents make doing so much easier by providing separate growing environments. I have a 28"x28" Spider Farmer tent that is perfect for that purpose. I've also used it to nurture an ailing plant that, for example, might benefit from less light.

Typically, I'll have 3 tents in use every cycle. My veg tent, my cloning tent, and my flower tent. I don't keep mother plants but I do take cuttings when I lollipop the plants. I usually do this in 2 stages a couple of weeks apart. I'll take cuttings each time. My flow is veg tent, 1st set of cuttings into the cloning tent, vegging plants moved to flower room after 2nd set of cuttings. So by this time, I'll have a round of rooting clones in the cloner, a round of rooted clones in the veg tent, and the plants from seed in the flower tent. My veg tent is a 30" x 60" x 80" so its large enough to flower clones in while we make room in the larger flower tent. I get 3 flower cycles out of one run this way.
