Hi all,

Very new on the indoor grow front, I’ve just got myself an 80x80x160cm tent to try out, I plan on using LEDs too. Wondering, what would be the best option to increase heat in something like this, would a heat mat suffice? Opinions would be appreciated, TIA.

Keep your whole room close to ideal temp, account for heat from light source like Seraphine said 👍

Something I picked up from outdoor hoop houses is to keep some heat sinks in your tent for lights out. I use black trash cans of water, the water does really hold heat made during lights on. Keeps my little space heater from running all the time.

But yes also keep the room the tent is in at the right temp.

Why not a small space heater? I use a small 750w space heater in small closet that I veg in, it works fine. With the worry about fires I wouldn't get super-cheap off brand one though (same goes doubly for heat mats, which I really don't trust very much). If you want to be extra safe switch the breaker your grow is on to the arc-fault kind and put that circuit on a GFCI plug if either isn't already.

Someone recommended these to me. The advantage is they can be used in flower and are probably safer than a space heater. You can put them on timers for night or a thermostat. You can always start with one.

Note: these are rated for different wattage.

^ these are what I use too, does the job and uses a lot less energy than the larger oil-filled radiator-type heater that I had been using previously, good luck!
