Hey kids!
Just a friendly reminder to those of you that don’t do so already….
If you’re growing from seed, and not from clones, MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE LINE!!!
What I mean by that is, if you’re growing a plant from seed, there’s genetic variations…
(ESPECIALLY with most of today’s seeds unless they’re like DJ Short’s F7 or something)…but if you buy a feminized Tropical Smoothie x Animal Mintz seed ha ha, you’re going to get some AM, some TS, some a mix of both, BUT you’ll also get some that potentially draw upon a grandparent that’s completely different ha ha.
I’m just saying that if I buy a VERIFIED CLONE, and I put it in MY ENVIRONMENT, it will STILL grow differently, smell differently, and look differently than the original. While it will be similar, still different.
Phenotype is Genotype x Environment.
So not only will it be different in YOUR tent with your lights and your media and your nutrients, but if you grow a clone in one tent under 600 PPFD, and another under 1100 PPFD, one will smell and taste different and the buds will look different than the other. This is why you see a lot of people getting a clone and then still growing it years later…because mastering a clone is possible!
All I’m getting at here is, KNOW YOUR CULTIVAR, and not just a cool photo or a cool sounding name, unless you’re going to buy a clone, and grow it run after run to really nail it down.
Maybe I’m crazy, but I haven’t run seeds before until now, and I’m just now finding these things out ha ha ha.
