Grown since 2025! Backyard shed edition!

But, that is exactly how it's supposed to be, right? Nice full canopy with good air flow underneath. And your little one is starting to fill out nicely. You did only keep one volunteer right? Hope it's female. Yeah, hopefully the tops fill out the way I...

Yeah, hopefully the tops fill out the way I want and the buds are nice and stacked. Most are fed by nice thick stems but there are a few in scrawny twigs that I'll just have to wait and see

The volunteer is a canna cheese feminized auto like I sent to you, she was showing sex before the big F-Bomb was!! I flipped the big one like 16 days ago before she was fully mature.

I think the cheese (circled) benefited the most from removing the competition growing next to it, some really explosive growth in the last 2 weeks. The big F-Bombe was so dominant over the little one I don't think it even noticed when I cut it out.

That, plus lowering the light has returned the level of growth to what I would expect right now.

Rez change today as follows per 5 gallons:

Tap water - .5 EC/256 ppm
Rez after 4 gal top up - .78 EC/390 ppm
Armor si - 4 tsp/20 ml - .83 EC/415 ppm
Micro - 4 tsp/20 ml - 1.18 EC/590 ppm
Grow - 2 tsp/10 ml - 1.3 EC/650 ppm
Bloom - 4 tsp/20 ml - 1.46 EC/730 ppm
pH down - .75 tsp/4 ml - 1.49 EC/748 ppm

This is a total breakdown of how each addition increases EC, with pictures below showing the pH changes. I'm only really adding 500 ppm of nutes on top of my base water right now and they are all lush and green. Next change all these numbers get bumped up.

Tap

Armor si

Micro

Grow

Bloom

After pH down

Final pH is close to 5.5 but it drifts up fast to 6 in like a day then settles down a bit until I change again. They just started their dark period so they won't see this water until 11 pm anyway.

The low tech dollar store grow upstairs is chugging along. I added some other herbs we had on the window sill to keep the cheese baby company for now. She'll crowd them out pretty soon and probably get a net of her own considering how height restricted I am.

I forgot to water them one day and the tray dried up, humidity crashed to low 30's...reminds me how easy it is to fuck this up without automation.

So, I told my daughter, 'sure, I'd love to come visit you for a few days', but damn, I've managed to have flowering, vegging and seedlings going at the same time. Geesch.
'Sorry sweetie, I have to stay home with my plants.' LOL

dude, i swear this is my broken brain way of staying β€œalive” living on the edge baby! I have learned a lot about watching the plants and seeing really how far things can sway one way or another. between all the hydro growers here, im getting a little more confident in wanting to get that going for the next season shed runs

Pretty much letting everything on the F-Bombe grow upwards at this point, I don't want to go too far and get directly over the heater. The cheese auto is usually a stretching machine and it will be fun to keep her contained with the scrog. Eventually most of her branches will be super cropped at some point.

I gave the ladies a taste of some real world sun this morning while I cleaned up and my neighbors were (hopefully) sleeping haha

I tried a lighter "crush" super cropping some thin secondary stems on the cheese to see how they respond to the stress without really lowering them. One on the bottom got the full treatment to compare the difference. I'm trying to tweak the hormone signaling to those branches so they beef up. Joint ash for scale lol

I'm also air layering a clone from the F-Bombe. The idea is to reverse it but remove it from the mother as the male sacs start to form. Hopefully in about five weeks it will have rooted. I will start spraying it with STS in a few days.

Inside the plastic wrap is moist coco and perlite wrapped in wet paper towels. As you can see it's split down the middle, the stem has one node and a thin slice underneath removed by a razor blade, and it's nestled into the bundle and secured with rubber bands.

Love it. I've used air layering on fruit trees but not weed. Cool!

I've never tried it, but from what I've read cannabis is plenty capable of it so why not right?

About 12days or so ya should have root. This is the 100% clone success method..lol. If I wanna keep a clone from a plant i can snag one at anytime during the grow. Veg or late flower if needed.

Did either of you (@Grownsince95 , @gmonster714 ) scrape that stem first? Or just wrap it?

And BTB, this Cannacheese 1:1 has the most unique smell already. Kinda like really old blue cheese in a geranium field. Wild. I'm hoping my pollination efforts work. Thx again bud.

I took a slice off the bottom with a razor blade, same as I do for clones.

Yeah, I rough it up with a nice wound. Throw on some gel and wrap it.

To keep it moist i spray the stem above the air layer and let it trickle in. If its sealed up pretty good it wont dry out very fast.

I found using them rooter plugs works like a charm..

I was curious if it was the same method as what I did with trees and bushes. I figured it would be.

I would think the same. I've not done it on a tree but the method is the same. Ive yet to have this way fail when using it on cannabis.

Its a super effective way to split a large vegging plant into 4 or 5 large clones. Or snag a branch in late flower and reveg the clone. I do this often without air layer by taking clones at 3wks in flower. They root fast and reveg in 4-6wks. Make amazing plants.
