Yeah it's tricky because once they start growing into the sponge it's easy to damage them. Kratky or DWC you could leave the sponge and just find a way to secure it with a small basket in the top of the container once enough root has poked out.It took 12 days for one to root. I haven't looked at the others yet. I'm a little concerned that moving the sponge will break off the tender roots, so how do I manage it? Originally I cut the sponge in half to wrap it around the branch, and kept it there with twist ties. I would love to keep one in some type of kratky or dwc setup as long as possible.
That's pretty cool never seen that before. Good luckOk so good news bad news ...
I cut the air layered branch off and decided to just leave it for a day instead of disturbing anything going on down there. I figured it would be easy to tell if it had rooted or not and I wasn't wrong, it definitely didn't. I unwrapped it and checked the stem, there were no roots, some brown discoloration but no mush. The good news is I decided to just clip it's leaves and today it has somehow perked up a little. I read that it could be a hormonal response from the plant and if I remember correctly there was heated discussion on this in another thread.
The reversal worked because I can see the very beginning of sacs forming but the likelihood of this thing surviving and producing viable pollen is extremely low. Either way I'll carry on with the experiment.
@PlumberSoCal2 what do you think? That was cut 21 days since I attached it.

Amen....learn everyday.Amazing. I'm extremely surprised no rootsbut I've been there after a month on cuts taken that finally produce roots. I'd plant her and see what happens. Root development could be close or maybe even started and just not enough to poke out?
I plan on waiting to see roots before cutting but I'm using a very small container in toothbrush covers with rockwool so I'll know pretty quick if/when roots develop as I'm making sure they're moist with a dropper of plain water beginning and end of each day.
This fucking hobbyAlways more to learn and experiment. I wouldn't want it any other way
Oh, FEM Nasty Ass Cheese autos? My NL autos are also fems. I still have a few regs of Magnum autos and Tooth Decay and a couple other seeds that never impressed that I'll leave in their containers.
If these Nasty Ass Cheese flip my switch I'll end up ordering some regular autos to work with, just for fun, and science and all
Keeps it interesting. This fucking hobbyAlways more to learn and experiment. I wouldn't want it any other way
My most entertaining grow yet. Sheβs getting top heavy now and wanting to lean. Love her scent. I feel like Hannibal Lector just breathing her in each time I pass her.For any of you out there growing this canna cheese 1:1 with me, I've only ever had 2 phenotypes. The one I see the most (3/4) is what I call the "purple" one. The other I call the "orange" one. The orange has more skinny leaves and no purple.
If I had to guess based on the structure now, I think the closest monster might be an orange one. Time will tell!
I know @grayoldnproud has got a beautiful "purple" one getting fat now
Looks great. Canβt wait to see how she finishes.Day 42 from sprout, just finished week 2 of flower. Definitely a different pheno than the one in the shed.

Yes, we are in that topsy turvy weather rollercoaster. Could be near 90 with 70 at night or high of 70 and 50 at night, flip a coin. Which I am sure she responds to. My CBD Mav is as well and getting some purps going on and that's one of the phenos they say is in it too. Doesn't seem to affect the Haze though. Box O Chocolates brother, Box O Chocolates. I love it.She probably gets nice and cool at night and that color just pops!
Send me a pic of the Maverick...mine isnt very big.....but just getting started.Yes, we are in that topsy turvy weather rollercoaster. I've got another one just cracked so we'll see how the warmer weather treats her.
Lookin good in there. Wish that tent was at least a foot taller.Canna cheese showing the haze in her lineage here. The parent of this S1 plant is what I'm calling the "purple" pheno and it was 3/4 of the original pack. The other 1/4 was the "orange" pheno that I described before and so far this plant is much more closely related to that.
Reading more into how Mephisto created this strain, I learned they had to carefully select for the 1:1 because some phenos would be 10:1 or 1:10. Based on that info I think it's safe to infer that the "purple" pheno is the true 1:1 and the others have a different balance between CBD and THC.
The parents are Cannatonic and northern cheese haze. The Cannatonic is the CBD strain and responsible for the roast beef and wine terps, and the cheese is self explanatory and brings the THC lol
This suspected "orange" pheno in the closet has a much stronger pure cheese smell already compared to the one in the shed, with a big difference in structure and leaf shape. It's too soon to tell, but it's possible the shed plant is a 3rd CBD heavy pheno because she's really low on the cheese smell and a week ahead of the closet plant. She also has the broadest leaves of all them.

Haha there's no dialing it back. It's a $49 Amazon special 100 watts pedal to the metalThats a crazy amount of stretch, even after all that manipulation!! Have you had to dial back the light?
Man I wish it was too!!Lookin good in there. Wish that tent was at least a foot taller.
