PH, PPM & General environment info would help, and why are you not using your tap water?Showing my ignorance, I'm also have them in a mix of FF Ocean forest and Happy frog. After about 2 weeks in the soil (roughly, I know I was late) I started using General Hydro florgrow and RO purified drinking water from the store. If any one could help thatd be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!
I don't use my tap water because we get hard water where I am in Mass and I had someone advise that I buy it instead. Im on a tight budget at the moment, so I don't have a temperature gauge in the closet I've got them in. I'd imagine its about 75 in there tho, with a real small fan for circulation. As far as my PH and PPMs, also haven't had the funds for a PPM pen, but I have been mixing 1 tsp per gallon on Gen Hydro nutes. Plants are in a relatively dry environment in their closet.PH, PPM & General environment info would help, and why are you not using your tap water?
We have seen fungus gnats early in the grow. However we switched soils and let's it dry out pretty good and that seemed to dwindle the numbers down to basically nothing. As far as for the PPMs and my PH, PH of water w/o nutes is 7. With nutes tends to drop closer to 6, but still above. Haven't tested the PH of the runoff but that's my next move. Also need to get my hands on an PPM pen as im not able to test my ppms right now either. I guess I'm definitely gonna need some more equipment. I will checkout those two ppl as well.i gotta get diesels template.
ok so they want u to water to 20% overflow... use a tds/ec meter (either). they want your parts per mil... or ec value: FROM THAT RUN OFF.. from tap and market water, would b good, as well so u know both values (ph & ppm/ec), as u add them. teepee temp and relative humidity. leaf surface temp would b nice. vapor pressure defect (vpd)- there r YouTube how twos... then renew ur Google card n pay ur late fees...
marijuana garden saver by jc stitch with ed, carving it... would b good. another grower bible, for starters.
it looks like low rh/dry.
that's what nute burn looks like.
u can pay these good peeps forward by starting a journal/thread so we can all stalk u til u call for cal mag n we'll b here.
your pics will b of use to the peeps who follow.
I'm a lil short... not hostile. it's just better i keep short n sweet.
many growers journal on YouTube, as well. many tubers, started in forums... u may even find a parallel grower, same medium n strain... so u know what to expect.
don't b down... my grow is fried in more ways than one, CURRENTLY.
might have a gander at fungus gnats, while ur at it.
any inoculants?
I suppose I need a few more tools. Will get a min max thermometer and humidity gauge and get back to this forum asapLooks like a vpd issue to me. What's your temp humidity look like, and night temp as well.
Thanks so much man I'll give it a shot and see what happens. What they said, looks like high temperature and humidity. Could be some slow drainage causing the additional moisture, and drowning the girls a little. And I always use tap water hard or soft as long as it’s not an odd color water and if you drink it the girls should be ok.try getting some better venting, and letting em dry out
I'm also in Mass., the only bad water that I'm aware of is down the cape but I suppose there could be other places? I recommend you check your tap waters PPM & pHI don't use my tap water because we get hard water where I am in Mass and I had someone advise that I buy it instead. Good advice bro, just ran out of test for PH but will test when I get more tonight. Totally appreciate this advice tho. Especially from a fellow Masshole!I'm also in Mass., the only bad water that I'm aware of is down the cape but I suppose there could be other places? I recommend you check your tap waters PPM & pH
Also the pH of distilled and RO water is not measurable by typical methods because there are not enough ions to be measured. You may think it's 7.0, it may even read 7.0, but it is not.
You may be better off using your local tap water, get some readings and let us know or check with your local cities Water Department and they will be able to tell you
Thanks for the advice. I'm just wondering, you dont think 4 plants of that size and being in the pots for about 3 weeks wouldn't drain all nutes from the soil. I'll definitely look at my tap again tho, it seems like I'm going above and beyond on water quality which is actually harming rather than helping.I think they are being overfed. FF has a lot of nutrients directly out of the bag, and any additions could cause nute burn or sometimes nute lockout later on as stuff accumulates. I would keep watered well as long as your soil doesn't hold too much water (I use Promix HP) and let the FF alone with just plain water. Hard water isn't always a bad thing, depending on how hard. It supplies magnesium and other minerals and helps to counter the acidity of many nutrients. I have noticed that some strains and young plants have initial problems with high levels of nutrients in the mix. I would use just water for the next few weeks unless something obvious happens. Maybe some micro nutrients just to keep things available, but with FF stuff, the major nutes are already in place... It's like using 2x the amount of fertilizer if you supplement them.
No no friend my heart is still up in New Hampshire, and everyday is one day closer to getting back there believe me! You can have my share of Mass!Good advice bro, just ran out of test for PH but will test when I get more tonight. Totally appreciate this advice tho. Especially from a fellow Masshole!
