Hi all I have some 13% h2o2 and want to make some 1% solution.
Am I right in thinking if I use 10ml to 120ml distilled water it would give me my 1%?
Cheers for any input.

Yes, you're correct! To make a 1% hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) solution from a 13% stock solution, you can dilute it using the formula:

C1V1=C2V2C_1V_1 = C_2V_2C1V1=C2V2
Where:

  • C1C_1C1 is the concentration of the stock solution (13%),
  • V1V_1V1 is the volume of the stock solution needed,
  • C2C_2C2 is the desired concentration (1%),
  • V2V_2V2 is the final volume of the solution.

You're aiming for a 1% solution from a 13% solution. Here's how you can calculate it:

(13%)(V1)=(1%)(130 ml)(13\%)(V_1) = (1\%)(130 \, \text{ml})(13%)(V1)=(1%)(130ml)
Solving for V1V_1V1:

V1=1%×130 ml13%=10 mlV_1 = \frac{1\% \times 130 \, \text{ml}}{13\%} = 10 \, \text{ml}V1=13%1%×130ml=10ml
So, you're correct in using 10 ml of the 13% hydrogen peroxide and diluting it with 120 ml of distilled water to make 130 ml of a 1% solution.

but if its for dwc hydro grow 1% is way too much

Thanks for your reply.
It’s to try and get some really old seed to pop. I only use 1ml per ltr in hydro systems.
Thanks again much appreciated
