Hi,

wonder, if anybody is adding into humudifier peroxide in a ratio with water (not for cleaning!)
Main point is having humidifier running longer without cleaning as I ve a big reservoir. Or it could slower plants growth?

Thanks
Kami.

I just use distilled myself, but I am Interested in what others think.....

if it’s tech grade than it’s working to keep it “clean” though at what percentage strength is it at with a full tank?
to me kinda a waste of peroxide and i always have a few gallons of 29% here..

Food grade, so around 30-35% will be used. But not sure what ratio and if it trully will be effective for a month at least without cleaning.
1ml per liter would be fine, tank around 20L... Peroxide is pretty cheap, I can buy 1l of 35% for around 5eur. Wanna use it in DWC too, so trying to get higher concentration than 30% would end up in technical grade (50%).

food grade is basically useless, becomes ineffective very quickly..
tech grade much longer lasting.. either way maybe just use it here and there instead of every fill up..

H2O2 added to water breaks down to, water almost instantly. It’s a waste of money. If you want clean water and container add NaAzide. I wouldn’t. Like the man said simply clean the container with a rag now and again. Or use two containers. One is collecting water while the other one empty is getting baked by the sun. Switch them out.

Refer to @Zill Answer, he would know over any of us.

Would u recommend using tech grade in DWC?

Kam,

Don’t fret. Just maintain good housekeeping. Save the peroxide for your hair. Also, H2O2 is an acid and is probably driving your pH lower.

Not probably but for sure. Have done a few tests with H2O2 during germinating.
So, H2O2 just to fix root issues and using rather myco and bacterias (tea if so) in DWC.

Was just thinking from cost perpesctive.

H2O2 breaks down to form H2O and O2 molecules, so I sometimes wonder if or how the free O2 affects plants. They respire during their dark periods, meaning they take in O2 and release CO2. So, I wonder if adding a little H2O2 into a humidifier before their dark period would provide a bit more O2 for them and that in turn could be beneficial. When I sober up, I realize there probably isn't enough O2 released to matter. 😉
