Harvesting your crop?

Surprised that there isn't a harvesting/curing section on this forum!?

...First real grow here and I have a couple questions regarding harvesting my crop:


1) how many weeks should I feed plants water only prior to harvesting

2) Should I avoid watering plants 1 wk prior to cutting? 2 wks?

3) What is your opinion on cutting top buds first and letting lower buds develop further before cutting? (I noticed in the GrowFaq section this is discouraged)


Day 42
400w HPS in grow tent/grow cab
6 Pre98 Bubba Kush clones in single bed
FF Grow Big and Tiger Bloom + Epsom Salt

You should feed water or water and molasses the last couple weeks before you pluck. You should water as usual until your ready to pull your plants. Letting the bottom nugs ripen isn't going to make too much of a difference

Flush two weeks before harvesting

Allow your pots to somewhat dry out if you can prior to harvesting. This will help minimize your drying time

Do not cut off the tops. Not worth it at all

Some strains ripen from the top down as other from the bottom up

Just chop the plant all at once

I flush for a week minimum, and i will go longer if they need another few days.
Also i have cut off tops before when i noticed that the lowers needed a little longer, actually worked out good cause i finished all the trimming of the tops, then a week later pulled the lowers, which def. matured that extra time. Normally i dont have to do this though. oh yeah i dont water for 2 days in RW prior to pulling

I flush 4 a week then chopem down.B4 i chopem i cut all the fan leaves off then hang the ladies up.
