I had your doubts about a week ago.
Then I got the Photone app.
Check it out and follow the instructions.
Your phone probably has the tech you need already.

I have a android phone, going to use the ppfd app with a lux meter like this..

I did use the Photone app , upgrading to the full spectrum.
This was ok, but your still relying on your manufactures numbers to calibrate.
Being a machinist by trade it was a no brainer to take the guess work out.

Chose spoton to do my setting.

It's better than the phone apps and not as good as a Apogee ePar.

If your looking at the apogee , don’t forget the spoton.

At .01% difference than the benchmark unit and less out of your pocket.
