I have seen talk about mixing horizontal and vertical HPS but haven't seen any runs with it.
This is a room I've been dreaming about for months now.

____________
o-------o------ o
----X----- X----
o ------o------ o
----X--- --X----
_o___o___o _

o=Vertical HPS
X= Horizontal hood with plant site under it.(30-45 gal smartpots or dwc/MPB/UC)

i like the idea of having 8K/13K of lights arranged like this.
If there is a grow on here similar as far as the vert/horizon mix up please point me in the right direction!

Thanks
EDIT:fixed X,O drawing

i would use a huge hydro set up for that many lights, gotta have a lot of roots and nutrient absobtion for the ladies to uptake that much light and still get enough yield to make it efficient.

IMO a mix of vertical and horizontal with mixed spectrums (red/blue) and styles of light (HID, led, plasma, T5) is the way to go if you want to grow trees.

Working on a new room with vertical blue 600's, horizontal hps 1000's and mixed t5's hanging vertically around the outside.

Flowers grow where light is so hit them from all sides.

That would surely grow some trees. That is a lot of light you'd be putting out.

Go and do some searches in the Under Current and MPB sections. Because these guys have mastered vertical lighting.

Current Cultures website also has some great vertical room layouts on their site. Call them and ask them questions before starting your project....this will save you tons of money and experimentation.
