The thing that started me thinking was looking at the complete nutrient kit on Buildasoil.org, the one designed by Clackamas Coot(LumperDawg) doesn't have the P one would expect. By the way, that is a great website to order from.

It' the full circle realization Brah, both of us have been at this since the mid-80's and Clackamas Coot has probably been at this a lot longer than us. He probably figured out the high "P" thing was complete bullshit a long time ago, His soil recipe leaves all the clues what cannabis likes from a N-P-K prospective, I’ve never tried his recipe but I know its way better than the SS. I bet Coot’s recipe also has a lot more “N” in it than you’d typically expect to see.

I'm all for trying new things but it always seems to come back to the full circle realization thing for me. I rarely give grow advice these days because it stirs up the penis measuring contests. I’m a results guy…if something works that’s great, if it doesn’t it’s back to the drawing board, no sense doing the same stupid shit over and over again expecting different results. (I believe that last little tid-bit is bastardized definition of the term “insanity”)

When I joined the farm I thought you were the person I can learn the most from when it comes to Organics. I'm a sponge that can always learn something new. No contest here. No probs, only solutions.

Much respect Cooter.

We all going the same place, just taking different roads and coming from different directions. Arthritis is taking the freeway, Cooter the scenic backroads route and I'm riding a horse. Lol.

Surfd, did you happen to read this post on the buildasoil blog? http://buildasoil.com/blogs/news/14100173-high-phosphorus-amendments

Further:
research has also shown that, when soils contain high levels of available phosphate, the degree of root colonization by mycorrhizal fungi diminishes. The higher the level of available phosphate in soils, the lower the level of root colonization by mycorrhizal fungi. This effect is documented both for ecto- and endomycorrhizal plants. Note that this effect only applies to available phosphates. Insoluble phosphates are unavailable, and do not affect mycorrhizal development.

Thanks for that Kalo, I dont think I did read that before and it reminds me to go back and read that blog. I did order the complete nute kit with the fish from that site a few months back but I'm going to order the Coots one next time. The nute kit is pretty amazing, I add just a touch every time I recycle my soil and I bust up some alfalfa cubes for mulch and that's it and plants are boosting. I ordered one of the larger kits and it was kinda busted up when it got here and since it is a new company and they asked I told them that they may wanna package stronger. Boom, they sent me another whole nute kit with a big earthworm castings sample.

So I'm digging the SCMK x Schrom Frosts, got 8 beautiful wanna get big girls. So I started researching the lines used and hope you guys can fill in the rest. Schrom(Romulan x 74 Santa Marta Columbian Gold)....where did this come from Hawaiian? Did you get it in seeds or cut? Directly from Shroomy? Who crossed it with the a Frost ..male? What generation Frost? Do we still have seeds from this cross?

ok now can get back to regular business with all the craziness pau. soooo background on these. Schrom I got from braddah that sent me SCMK, of which I still get and will share when things get back to normal :) I crossed the Schrom to a seedling frost back like 2006-7 or so maybe a little earlier. after the initial cross, I used successive seeds (like maybe 3 gens at most) and crossed that to the SCMK. Schrom is great but had difficulty finishing all the way in our environment which is one of the reasons why I crossed it to the Frost. the other was because like I told you before, the terpenes were somewhat similar and I liked the way they both tasted. I still have seeds of the like 3rd gen schrom frost and I think dirty has some of them too but not sure. alright, I have one outside I thin that made it thru the storm and is beginning bud now. good luck brother

on the P thing, you know whats weird, it doesn't matter what ferts I use nowadays, indoor at least, my plants will always fade to yellow toward the last 2 weeks. I am sure this is an unconscious decision on my part to either kill N early, or not feed P enough during cycle. I know I am not an expert on growing but have grown thousands of paka by now. to me, this all delves into the larger debate of how each person utilizes what is available to them to grow the best weed that they see fit. many a time have I sat down with brothers of the Paka debating why when all conditions are equal, one person's grow will not be the same as the other. more food for thought but I was thinking more macro that micro in this instance :D aloha brothers

The plants know what they want to eat vs. what we think they want to eat. What most people forget is "the less is more philosophy" most newbs do just the opposite and end up with all sorts of issues that probably wouldn't have happened if they understood how the plants actuality wants to grow.

I agree if a plant is yellowing in the last two weeks prior to harvest I let ride, some plants are more prone to yellowing down the stretch than others. What i have noticed the time of year also plays a big role, certain times of the year the plants will naturally autumn off faster or slower depending on the photoperiod. This time of the year I'm a little more heavy with the "N" vs. using very little "N" growing the same plant in the winter months. This is obvious to us because we've done this process over and over again throughout the years, but for someone just getting their feet wet with gardening this might not be so obvious and if they can learn the actual plant process/cycle of life this information is valuable.

I also agree with you.... if you give ten growers the same clone they'll all turn out a bit different. The growing environment/micro climate to me is a lot more important than keeping up with the plants dietary needs. With outdoor growing don't have the luxury of total control the environment which posses it own challenges, Maybe one of these days we can all pass around the same clone and flower them out all at the same time to see how they behave in the various micro climates throughout the islands.
