(Paradise White Berry x Sensi's Hawaiian Indica)
The White Berry pheno that I used as a mother in this cross is the bigger yielding, more fruity smelling and hashy tasting pheno that fades to purple. A pheno that I simply nicknamed, 547, in order to tell it apart from my other White Berry pheno, which also fades to purple, but has a menthol smell and flavor to it and also yields less than the 547. The male used is a Sensi Seed's Hawaiian Indica (Northern Lights x Hawaiian Sativa). I recieved an unsexed Hawaiian Indica seedling as a gift from a grower who was nice enough to donate it to me after I donated one of my strains to him. It was originally root bound in a small 2" square starter pot. I took it home and transplanted it and gave it some good tlc. As it grew I researched the genetics online and found this piece written by Marc Emery,
"The Hawaiian Indica by Sensi ( and that is the Hawaiian used in the excelent BC Seed Co strain, NL x Hawaiian, as well as the Classics Hawaiian Indica, Hawaiian/Kush) is like a summer day, dreamy. The big buds, that I can identify more readily that any other strain of the fat cola bud type, the pistils are often tinged red, rose, pink, (usally white), are wide round buds, offering great dreamy high and larger than moderate potential yields. Hawaiians indicas, somewhat like Thai indicas, especially sativas, don't handle stress well, so an already proven environment of conscientious grow room care should be the phase you feel you have evolved to in grow experience. A Hawaiian Indica really adds flesh to small yielding indicas ( I would like to see White Widow crossed Hawaiian Indica, I think that might have profound benefits and influences). Hawaiian Indica, in my experience, is a good medicine for the spasticity and pain ailments also.
Hawaiian Indica used to be more popular 10 years ago, when there was more Hawaiian outdoor available shipped off outside of Hawaii. With the severity of the Marijuana Extermination Program of the USDEA, Hawaiian outdoor is simply not found outside of the former Sandwich Island these days." - Marc Emery
The pheno that I had of the Hawaiian Indica grew single cola. Fat indica leaves. Branches stayed tight to the main stalk of the plant. Pollen sacks turned purple, as well as the main stalk and the stems of the fan leaves. And, pollen sacks were forming large tight clusters that resembled dense nugs. So to test what traits were passed on from pollen collected from this strain, I crossed it with a smoke that I know well. The White Berry (nicknamed 547), which was at the perfect stage of flowering for pollination, so I took a q-tip and pollinated a branch. I started 16 seeds and gave one slow starter away. Giving me 15 to continue working with.
I'm gonna keep making new generations of this one until I get what I'm looking for. Which is a potent, big yielding, indica dominate strain with little variation. Here's where we are right now. 15 of them going strong. My female selections will be based on yield, bud formation, and potency. My male selections will be based on resin production, smell, and indica ratio. And all future generations will be made by sib-mating.
