Hi All, I have a tiny super lemon haze AF that is on week 9ish of flowering. This is my first time growing any haze and it’s short because I was punishing it early season as I was working out how to make my greenhouse work well. Most everything sugared out several weeks ago and I’ve been waiting for amber. There are spots of amber on a few sugar leaf trichomes but no amber on any flowers. I had found some info earlier that haze plants are notorious for not going amber but can’t find it now and worried my memory is t serving me well. Still some minimal new pistils but 90% of the pistils have turned red and died out. The plant is fast showing signs of nitrogen deficiency including in the sugar leaves. I’m a bit worried the whole plant is going to go on me and am thinking I should cut it down now rather that supplement with nitrogen or other fertilizers. Agree?

Fishy,

You’re pretty close harvest and the plant is shutting down. You can add fertilizer but at this point it probably won’t do much good.

Yeah, that’s my thinking too. My gut says cut now. This nitrogen thing popped up just over the past handful of days, was green early last week. Anyone know if haze are what I remember reading… notorious for not going amber?

Sativas generally take a lot longer than hybrids or indicas as well.
Haze be doing haze thangs.

there are some sativas out there, although very rare, that can even take as long as 14+ weeks to fully mature lol. Thai's, columbian land race etc. I had a dela haze years ago that took a solid 12 weeks. My old columbian land race plants, i never even finished, indoors or out, not once xD

certain sativas dont or very little.

I never really saw any amber on the columbian. If you actually take them long enough, far as i know youll get amber eventually, but the plants will usually have already started to die. The columbian just went milky and kinda stayed. Never took at past jsut under 14 weeks, or early november tho. Interesting though because at harvest the plant had testable concentrations of delta-9 and CBN, which before that is what i associated with amber trichs. So theres more going on there then is understood for sure.. The longer flowered runs were nearly 1:1:1 thc-a:delta 9:cbn after a month cure with cloudy trichs.

My theory for why some old skunky sativas do that anxiety free smiley chinese eyed social buzz even when fresh cured and unaged, is that something in that skunky terpene chemistry pre-decarbs/breaks down the THC chemically without any oxidation going on, oxidation is what causes the amber color. I have no practical idea though. theory

Sorry for being off topic OP

Not off topic… It’s great info! Love to hear others experiences. It’s all related.

This story make some sense with my nose too… about two weeks ago I noticed this thing was getting pretty damn stinky. Since then the stink factor has definitely decreased. I chalked the change from stinky to not to environment, but now I’m thinking perhaps there is some other activity going on. Fuck it, I’m gonna cut tonight. If anyone thinks that’s a mistake, speak now or forever hold your bong. :)
