I have been trying to grow for a while but the seeds would never germinate mainly because they are bag seeds I've found. On Thurs August 17, I put two seeds in a wet paper towel inside a plastic bag and left it. Thinking they weren't going to germinate, I did not check them. But on Sunday I decided to take a look and the baby plants were already growing, the leaves were yellow and i thought they weren't going to survive. I planted them in cups you can see in the pictures,I've been watering them and giving them 18 hrs light 6hrs dark with a timer set on the line. I've worked with hydroponic systems before so I am thinking about transferring them to DWC when they get big enough. Main thing I am concerned about is if they are going to be male or female. Take a look at the pictures and tell me what you think. Thanks

Update: one of the plants broke in half over night, it was reaching for the light and the stem couldn't take it. I should have supported it earlier but I did not think it would matter. lesson learned :(. On the other hand, the second plant seems to be doing good. when sould i translate it to a bigger pot of soil?

I did not know what that was, just looked it up and i guess they are osmocote pellets. They came in the cups from Lowe's, since I didn't know what they were I took most of them out.

The tap root is as long or longer than the part sticking out of the media, so your tap root is starting to do circles. Id say transplant it now.

A good way i fought seedlings from tipping... Once they get tall, you can uppot them and bury the stem deeper, i buried mine with about an inch between the soil and the seed leaves and the plant stayed upright no problem.

Roots will initiate from anywhere in well packed soil in dirt. So if it goes well it could help your root system flourish as well.

Glad you got some seeds to live, keep pushin and youll find yourself a lady in no time! Good luck man keep growin. Positive vibes

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep that in mind when i germinate some more seeds, I just have to find some. What would you say is the best way to get seeds? Ive transplanted the plant to a big pot as you can see in the pictures and I am keeping it on 18 light, 6 dark. What do you think about that?
thanks again

Sounds like a plan my dude. Keep trying and read read read everything you can about each stage of life as your about to enter it. For example, when it was time for me to harvest my buds ...i spent the last two weeks of growth reading EVERYTHING i could about proper harvest, proper drying and curing ..etc...so i knew and had a plan before i went flyin off the handle diving in with next to zero.knowledge. trust me. Doing your homework helps a great deal. Keep it growin buddy. Good luck

Obviously. I was asking him for his personal choice of getting seeds. Post is called first grow, so speaks for itself. Even if the site says discrete shipping and blah blah, how am i supposed to believe it if I've never used it before. Also, growing in a state where marijuana isn't legal makes me paranoid buying seeds offline.

I used midweeksong.com recently with good results, selection was good and shipping was discrete and quick, there are alot of good suppliers out there though.

Also anyone else think almost all of these pictures look a little over watered or is that just me?

I would take gardnguyahoy's advice when transplanting and I personally recommend a t5 for seedlings cause you can get the light to the seedling and avoid stretch all together, cheap to buy initially and cost effective to run. Also nice to have uv bulbs around for it when end of flower comes so I don't have to leave my reflector glass open to get uv.

TLDR:Welcome to the farm.
