First year growing outdoors. Girl in the ground is 6'9", girl in the pot is 3' tall. Week 4 of flower. They both have seeds! There is a hemp field about 2 miles from me, could it possibly have pollinated my girls?

Welcome! Man that one is huge. It's possible it got pollinated that way but I could be wrong.

I'm curious if these seeds will be viable next year or will I just grow hemp?

Hi and welcome. That's a good article from Gmix. If they are truley pollinated by the hemp yes they will be viable to grow just has less potency. Very sorry if this was the case but still useable. Really nice looking plants.

If you think it’s the hemp then you can always turn to triploid’s! Cost a little more! Humboldt seed company! Good luck!

Gmix, I'm not seeing anything that looks out of the ordinary, but I'm fairly new to growing cannabis, so I could have missed something.
Last year we did indoor/ outdoor (moving buckets in and out daily). This year I wanted to try exclusively outdoor ( minus the germination and early veg.) These girls have been outdoors since 5/30. One didn't make it and one got repotted mid July.

Oldchucky, I'm not familiar with triploids, but it sounds way too complicated. I just want to grow a small stash for us, and to share with friends.

All it is is a pot plant with an extra set of chromosomes! So it is sterile for all intents and purposes! So it won’t get knocked up by Hemp fields! I grew one last year and they grow just like any other pot plant! Minus the seeds! Just an option!

you could put up tarpaulin to try shield your plants from the hemp pollen

Minor catastrophe last night. Unexpected thunderstorm broke a branch off my big girl.
Colas are hanging. She's only week 5 of flower, but already frosty.
We're experimenting with drying some in the dehydrator, anyone got any experience doing this?

Storm damaged branches get me through till harvest time. Never used a dehydrator, I just hang dry them.

What do you guys think? This is day 42 of flower. Are they ready? Close? I'm running out of frost free nights.

They sell heaters that attach and sit right on top of propane tanks. We used to use them up in upstate NY on a big outdoor grow where it was almost impossible to finish an outdoor run without frost. They also help prevent and evaporate morning dew!

Gotta get more magnification on the trichome pics to really see if they're ready
