Never had sense where you lived till mid eighties? I grew up in Oregon, we started getting it about 1978-79, $100-120oz or you could still get Colombian Gold for 40-50. By 83 seedy weed was pretty much gone.

I remember visiting Miami in 81. They were getting Colombian and Jamacian. I told my Cousin about the indoor grows in Oregon and he thought I was lying or nuts. He said no way can you ever grow weed as good as Colombian indoors. I took some killer seeds home and gave them to some friends....

I didnt grow then. I was connected pretty young though. The best weed we got was imported from hawaii and africa. Or what they called hydro was light green red haired indoor. Maybe from cali or your area.

Its great to talk to such old growers like you around here. What a pool of experience we have.

I started smoking in the mid 80's lol and it was mostly brick mexican for $15/qtr oz. The sens was $25-$50 and you are correct. Not very common where I grew up. I find it amusing thinking about how I used to smell the bags and taste the joints before lighting them up. I have a fond memory of a strain I had that I never really tasted since. And wish I knew what it was so I could grow some lol.

We used to get Hawiian that's better than anything I can find today. Sadly, it went away and skunk became the norm by 86. We never had African where I lived. I would have loved to try the old durban.

We would get what they called african black. It was dark and sticky. We packaged grams in wax paper.

And i agree. The real 80’s Hawaiian they called Maui Wowie was pretty much my favorite weed ever.

But as far as skunk. We had outdoor grown skunk. Smelled like way too much rotting flowers. And it was a 10’ tall sativa structured plant.

It was stronger and longer lasting than the maui but less trippy.

Quite different than the later skunk 1 or cheese. But i still miss that too.

We still got diesel at least.

LOL yup the good ol days. Everytime I hear someone say how the weed today is 20x stronger than the 70 and 80s I know they wasn't living in Oregon.

first time i ever toked i was in H.S. 1987 and was visiting a friend in Eureka Ca. and someone GAVE me a paper lunch sack of some lime green and gold buds that i have never seen before since. It had a real distinct smell and flavor that i wish i knew what it was because when i got outta the army in '93 it was that pleasant memory that brought me back to smoking...and never saw it again....Wish i knew what it was...they weren't fat nug's they were long and somewhat skinny running the length of the stem ....longshot for asking and apologize for disturbing but any ideas of the strain?

A lot of the Oregon and California growers I knew were using Hawaiian seeds and acclimatizing there strains since the 70s. In the early 80s the indicas came into play and people started crossing. So my guess is some type of hybrid. I remember one we called Humboldt gold...

No bullshit but that sounds like the stuff I was talking about. I'd say around 83-84 for me lol.

Yup. You can try pulling them off with tweezers, or kill the whole plant. Seeds from herms are more prone to herming themselves. Save the Gene pool, just say no to FEM seeds.

Appreciate the help! I pulled that one out the tent put it by itself and plucked the bananas off. Feel like I caught in time to have a fighting chance thanks again!

you're doing a wonderful job, by the way. don't b discouraged. it's nothing you did. worst case... you get seeds of something u already didn't mind growing, from the breeder... if your gals were sourced, commercially, mind name dropping so i can cross em off my Christmas lis
i like my strength in genetics... i ♡ MEN!!! ewe... nm... that sounds...

I got them from Rocket seeds but pretty sure they came from Crop Kings

Heya farmer where did you get your seeds from? You have a keen eye good on you for catching it early. Keep a close eye on your other plants if you can take your plant to another location and pull all the nanners off of it and let it finish you can salvage some smoke off of it. I feel for you buddy it sucks! But we have all experienced this at one time or another. Hang in there btw nice job on them shit happens

Ty! I appreciate the advice! Was super bummed since it’s my first grow but least I feel like it has a chance now. I moved it to its own tent and plucked the nanners hoping for the best!

Definitely pull it and harvest I wouldn't even keep it by itself it looks a ok just time for that one to be done. If I let some fems go longer from seed they tend to herm. Why I stick with mainly regs now and pick me some winners to keep around through cuttings. Learn how to take em if you dont they will save you alot of headache. There are also some strains that are just more apt to herm.
