Help me identify this pest (?)

Hi all,

I left for a week and when I came back I found 3 of my 4 mother plants with this. I transplanted the plants before leaving and used soil which I thought was clean, but it seems it wasn't. I have checked some websites but habe been unable to identufy this pest. The plants have more resin on stem and leaves than normally. I would really appreciate if you could help me identufy and combat this ASAP!

now that's a rare sight. I think what you have there are scale bugs. soap water and alcohol.

they've got a first shower of soap-alcohol water... let's see what happens now.

Scales for sure. U can spot treat with qtip and alcohol too. They are coming up from ur medium, be sure to do a drench of some sort.

A note on the soap--don't use detergent (Dawn is a detergent, not a true soap). It is soaps that are able to break down the waxy cuticle layer on the bugs' bodies, so be sure it's truly a soap.
