Thanks for the info, MPC. One possible solution for your humidifier might be to see if you can rig up a dryer hose to capture the humidity outside the tent and a small intake fan at the other end of it inside the tent through one of the vent openings. This will act as an active air intake system, but draw in the humid air. It might help with the RH/VPD issues.

Personally, I'm still leaning a bit towards too hot of a mixture, but that's just going from what I'm doing and the difference in size/weight of the buds at the same stage of growth. It could be that each small difference makes a ... well, small difference. But added together they make a bigger difference. As I said, though, since this is my first hydro grow, there are much more experienced people here who can weigh in.

Cheers,

BA.
Of course I appreciate your feedback it's much appreciated! That's smart I do actually have some ventilation hose leftover from my inline fan exhaust I'd have to cut a hole in my tent I got a cheap 2x2 tent with no cut outs and figure out how to prevent light leaks.

I decided to drop my ppm I added some distilled water diluted my mix by 100ppm. My ppm never increases or decrease stays the same they been drinking about a half gallon a day

Unfortunately not it was just a cheap vivosun 4" fan I got most of my stuff on a budget paid liked $200 for my whole setup but definitely realizing I need to invest. My humidifier is big for my 2x2 tent
For another $30 on Amazon you can add a humidity controller plug to either your exhaust fan or the humidifier and put it in the tent. Especially in Colorado it's brutal you will make a big difference in your grow.

The posts above were not wrong about nutrient burn, but the problem with very high vpd is that even normal ppm levels become too high. With that much water surging through the plant it gets toxic fast.

If you cut a hole in the side, just make sure the vent hose doesn't have any droop in it at all. Best to have it on a slight upward angle or you'll get water pooling in it. You can use duct tape where it enters the tent on the inside and outside to block any light, and if you use a short stick or piece of wood, you can duct tape it to the vent hose outside the tent to maintain a stiff, straight upward run into the tent. If you can get your hands on a small fan (even a small 4" CPU sized fan) and set it up in the tent in front of the new "vent" hole, it will draw that humid air into the tent a lot faster and spread it around more.

Smart move with the diluting the reservoir. You can always bump it back up if that isn't helping after a week, or on your next change. Just from my (very limited) experience, I've found using about half of the recommended dosage is all she needs, as hydro is so much more potent as far as nutrient uptake goes.

Hope it all works out for you, MPC! You still have 5 weeks or so to pack on some mass.

Cheers,

BA.

Could it be not mixing right with the silica i k ow that can picky shit to mix, I always way dilute it first then wait an hour after it mixes in before doing anything, just dont want that to get overlooked. These guys are smart and have great advice 👊

I've always worried about that this is my current procedure I add my silica to my airaited water first with a decent size aquarium pump to circulate the water around then Add the rest of my nutes and ph adjust if needed. I let it sit overnight so the ph can stabilize then do my water change I make extra to keep on hand for top off throughout the week regular water and nuts mix depending on how they feed

Just didnt want something to get overlooked, sounds pretty solid, I would definitely work on that humidity also

I do the same thing mixing my reservoir. 15L distilled water, add the Silica Blast with an air stone in it, hand mix it for a minute or two then let it sit for 30-45 minutes with the air stone before remixing it vigorously and then adding the CaliMagic. Let that simmer for about 15 minutes then add my Flora Trio, dial in the EC, set the pH and add my 3% H2O2 for a sterile grow. From what I've read, if you don't the silica will bind with things and drop to the bottom of the res like a fine sludge.

That's it exactly as I understand it brother, your grows looking 🔥 BTW 👊

1. I used distilled water for all of veg but got tired of having to buy a gallons of water. So I switched to tap water at the beginning of flower I've made sure it has no chlorine or chloramine and the PPM starts out at about 80-100 from tap

2. My apologies, I should have been a little bit more specific I use dyna grow and dyna bloom with the occasional Cal mag every couple of water changes. I use silica blast. Every water change

3. Unfortunately, I don't have enough space in my tent to be able to get my evaporative humidifier in my tent
Distilled water is not good for growing anything. Its been stripped of all that's good in water. So you have to provide everything, micro minerals included and its not an easy grow.

Unless your water is toxic I'd use it or I'd go with Spring water over distilled. Reg drinking water would be better than distilled.

I can kill my plants with it. If I want color at the end of a grow I can feed distilled water, the leaves will start to yellow up. 2 doses and I kill off my leaves as it depletes what ever mobile nutrients are still left
