Ocean forest only becomes "hot" when you overwater it, the water soluble nitrogen becomes too much for the little plant to handle imo.

My first 10 grows were ffof and i never had an issue with it being "hot"
You just need to know how to water your plants and ffof is as good as any soil.
I think it gets the rap from people who start feeding too soon in it

I'm glad you all helped this person......

It's to bad sometimes......

I'll stick to my answer above......

I wish I posted pics of my plants a lil while ago.....

You fuckers would have saved me SO much .....

50 people telling ya the same thing......I would have experimented on it.......

Sorry to post in a OLD thread......

🤪

hot means to my understanding “hot” meaning actively composting meaning you have fresh or partially decomposed organic matter in the soil and when you add water to it it is actively composting and reaching actual higher temps. a trick i sometimes use on my winter grows because it helps the plants sitting on the ground by keeping the rootzone temps up. but its a tricky thing to tune up bc too much can actually make it go from warm to hot hot very easily.

all other soils especially packaged soils are not hot they are rich which in organics it rarely causes any problems if ever. this is my experience with it at least.
