Help! Snapped main stem. Cut off. will it survive? What to do? Help…

What you accidentally did is called a deep top that is actually a real thing I do it all the time on my plants. Sometimes if I forget to top and my plants are too tall and lanky I will chop the entire top off. The remaining small shoots take time to stretch up and take over as the new tops but once the plant fully recovers it will have more of a round bush shape. I use that method to help keep my plants squat and bushy.

I’m expecting/hoping it does the same. This one was over 58” last I measured before the breaking. I did not top this clone but I did too another clone. I decided to tie it done and just bend it. I have never really super cropped with pinching and squeezing etc. it’s going be interesting to see what happens. I will keep this thread updated with photos every week or two. My biggest concern is healing and secondary did I hermie it. It’s just starting to pre flower and stretch.

It will be fine I chop plants all the time and never even treat the stalk. I literally never have issues. I use a pair of hedge clippers and give them the dirty chop. takes them a few days to bounce back then its back to the race. Your grow will still finish OK.

Thanks. I gave them a nice drink with some buildabloom aminos by buildsoil. They are pointing up, loving their summer in Coast of Maine Stonington Mix. I also too dressed w some Craft Blend by buildsoil. Foliar with potassium silica. I may top dress with buildaflower and mill some barley each of eh next two weeks before 12/12 on 8/16. It’s going be interesting to see what the deep top does vs standard MO topping on the same genetics in terms of yield. All organic sunny outdo photoperiod. Will post pics of her as she bounces back from my mistake. Please let me know if you or the other experts would add anything to my plan. I haven’t done outdoors since the 90’s LOL.

Hi Growers. The plant raged as experts on here suggested it would. It’s about 10” tall now and has 14 colas. I had to bend it over using LST again to keep the canopy hidden. The main stem deep top turned into a golf ball sized node and then the plant sloughed off the partial main stem like a scab. I think the honey advice worked well.

On the other hand the normally topped one is about 7” tall and has about 20 colas. Much denser.

That plant I broke grew to about 11.5 ft and had 15 colas and was dank as dank can be. It would have easily cleared 13-15ft had I not broke it. This deep topping raged the colas. It ended up being my favorite plant. Hopefully that doesn’t happen again but if it does I would splint it.
