Hello everyone,
I have a serious whitefly problem that has been re-occurring in our group for over a yr.
we have tried numerous products, from spectacide at lowes to Kontos from a specialist... I have even tried a vacuum cleaner!!! lol
I am in a desperate cituation as of now, they are in full control of my room and starting to do serious damage!!
Does anyone have a proper battle stratigy to help fend this f*ckers off???!!
ANY AND ALL INPUT IS APPRECIATED!
thanks farmers

monterrey garden insect spray (spinosad) is the only thing i can recommend besides cleaning out your area and allowing a month or so to pass while bug bombing them to kill them off completely.

How big are your plants? I use Neem oil. If I have a whitefly problem I make sure to shake the plant pretty hard and spray under the leaves. shake and spray, shake and spray. If you have little plants that are easy to work with you can dip them in a Neem mix. Just do the recommended dose for however many gallons(so the plants are completely submerged) and dip them in there. Make sure you have it bubbling. You jsut have to keep up on the spraying. Every 3 days, shake and spray, shake and spray.

Hope that helps.

Very true Supa. I use neem oil to solve any pest problem. I was feeling all bad asz ready to break out the bombs. :) Something I've only done once....like 6 years ago.

lol. He might have to do what you said though..if they're all over the room you're going to have to kill those bastards somehow? you could vacuum the room when you take the plants out lol! really though, you might want to clean the room a little before you put them back. just wipe the walls down with some water with a VERY small amount of bleach. just to be cautious. I think those little fuckers die pretty easy though.

Thanks guys!
I have 4- 4'x5' beds with 64 plants each. removing them is not an option! lol
My crew have tried the Pyrthium bombs in the past with no good results.
neem will be difficult to apply but may give it a shot.
Supa... I can tell you from fighting these things for 4 months that they are not easy to kill!! lol
Thanks for your input guys! much appreciated

If nothing is working and you are in danger of losing your crop, give them a couple days of Tempo & Merit (Tempo= B-cyfluthrin .0015%) & (Merit= Imidacloprid .012) Sold under the name Bayer Advanced Rose & Flower Insect Killer. Like ten bucks at Wal Mart. This is some very powerful & toxic shit but it WILL kill your White Flies on the first application. Avoid use on buds & NEVER use within a week of harvest. Read the precautions too. This is a last resort but it is highly effective on whiteflies
I had a customer completely infested with them -She was ready to take everything out of her house & wait until fall to start back up. An organic grower who had tried all of the expensive organic stuff but they kept coming back. Merit/Tempo killed them in a day & she harvested about four weeks later with no advverse effects. Don't saturate your buds! But do apply a good coating to the medium, walls, floor & everything.
Good Luck getting rid of those little bastards!
Also kills fungus gnats immediately (try caterpillar-killer first)

" No pest strip" works wonders. I would grab a couple of these for after the large numbers are knocked down. RB

This is out of a book I have:

Marijuana Garden Saver Handbook for Healthy Plants
J.C Stitch
Ed Rosenthal

Encarsia Formosae are tiny wasps that lay eggs inside immature whiteflies. They are not social, they don't make hives and are so small that once they are released you may never see them again. Indoors and in greenhouses one introduction may be all that is needed because their numbers increase much faster proportionally than their prey.

Seems like that could be what you're lookin for. You want to get rid of the babies. No offspring= extinction. lol. It also says that you need to keep your temps below 80* to slow reproduction rate. The adults last 4-6 weeks. Other beneficial insects are lacewing larvae and minute pirate bugs, but they don't elaborate on the way they kill them.

Lady bugs will work, if you can keep them contained to your grow area... natural preditor is the way to go (if ya can). I've got the same situation and have lost my whole last harvest due to these f'rs (didn't go as ape sht on them as I shoulda).
Live and learn....

Yah lady bugs could work. You need a lot though. They're pretty cool and you can get cool pics with them on the plants.

hey everyone!
thought i would post my resolution for anyone that may have this problem now or in the future.

I decided against Encarsia formosa and Delphastus pusillus because of the heavy chemicals that were already in the flower room.
I was recommended to a website named rosmania from a friend of a friend.
I ordered a product called KONTOS, 200 bucks for a tiny bottle, shit... i woulda paid 2000 if it worked! lol
anyway's, I applied a foliar as prescribed and a small amount to the rez. this is a systemic product that is absorbed into the tissue and kills all eating bugs.
I seen no affects for the first few days and was very discouraged, however... 3 weeks later i am 100% white fly free! The product worked extremely well and seems to have no ill effects on the plants. I was sure to flush for an extra few days just incase.
all in all i am a happy mofo!
thanks everyone for your help!

Man i wish my grow space could contain natural predators. Ladybugs and Minute pirate bugs all day. Beware... Pirate bugs have a gnarly bite for something that small.
