It is now time for my 3rd/4th grow. My third grow was kinda test run for me. Well if you can say all my runs have been as I'm still new to growing. Well these lovely little ladies anyway. The third grow was all hydroponics/ DWC not sure the correct terminology. 5 gallon buckets with 3" net pots jiffy peat pods and some hydrodon pebbles. Started out with 5 seeds 100% germination. 2 GDP autos from seeds supreme, Blueberry auto from FastBuds, and grizzley purple auto from seeds supreme.
Not know what I'm doing I germinated the 3 seeds from seeds supreme in the peat pods and the 2 from FastBuds 1oz water 5 drops hydrogen peroxide, then paper towel to peat pods once all seeds where out the peat pods I went straight in the next basket into the buckets with the water level touch right at the bottom of net basket. The 2 FastBuds seeds and the 1 grizzley purple died from water logged peat pods. OOOOOOPPPSSS...
AS FOR THE TWO GDP's well they are flowering right now. Not the best of plants not sure if it's genetics or poor environmental issues. Other then the water logged peat pods in the beginning. Which I some how was able to save these 2. Temps have been kinda all over the place had a little algae start growing in the buckets mid veg to 2 weeks in to flowering. Finally got that under control and the water ph and ppm stable for the most part.
Onto my 4th grow everything is from FastBuds. This grow around I started out with lemon Mandarin photo and 2 bluedreams autos. Once again 100 % germination. Cup with water hydrogen peroxide to paper towel to 3 gallon fabric pots. With recycled Fox Farm Oceans Forrest soil. Not sure where I went wrong with the bluedreams but only one survived going into the soil not sure if I over watered or what happened but the seedling sprouts and breaks soil and seed shell comes off but no cotyledon leaves. Let go for couple days nothing seems to happen. I pull what was there and it had roots just no leaves. Oh well lmao. Now I started the photo a month before I started the autos as my plan for the photo is to try mainlining it. First attempt for me was horrible. Doing way to much on my first grow.
For the Lemon Mandarin I was skeptical on it for the longest. But as time goes on it seems to be doing ok. At day 28 I topped her at the 4th mode and took off the 1st node leaving just the 2nd and 3rd. Stretching her out flat for the next 17 days. On day 45 I topped each node again. We are now on day 68 of veg for this lovely lady. One of my friends says she is lacking behind for being day 68. But to me none of the toppings have seemed to stunt her growth at all. Each topping next day or two the was noticeable growth all the way around. I am very surprised on how uniformally everything is growing and staying level. I decided on two on the main nodes to leave 2 side nodes coming out on day 80 I am planning on taking them off and going to try and use them to clone for hydro/DWC.
Not much to report on the bluedreams as it is only on day 3 of veg. But seeing that one of my seedlings didn't survive I decided to go ahead and get ready for a full run of hydro/dwc of some auto compliments of you guessed it fastbuds lol. I have 1 Tropicana cookies 2 Mexican Airlines and 2 mix seeds not sure what they are bought in a 5 pack just chose two seeds and there we go. These are all on day 1 just sprout out peat pods today and opened up. Hopefully we will have better luck this time as I germinated all these seeds in the peat pods like the GDP's last run. Will wait till I see roots and tap root coming out of the peat pods before putting water in the 5 gallon buckets this time. No pictures of 4 of the 5 babies going DWC will post on next post.
Back to what I was saying about the genetics or the environmental issues. I do know that genetics does play a lot of role in the plants life. Bad genetics not so good plant life good genetics happy plant easier to maintain and read the plant. As I have ran 6 GDP's in my first year of growing and every plant but these last 2 have been different then the others. Even these two a different but also have some same characteristics.
I am sorry for this post being so long and borin I hope someone out there is as bored as I am and actually reads thru and looks at my pics follows along and gives me pointers as I go along on this grow journey...
