I have a hermie that showed it's face today. I found a few bananas on a few of the flowers on a plant. I'm pretty sure it is from over defoliation as it appeared on the one plant I used as a test subject that I defoliated most of the plant. My question is...if it only shows a few stamens, how in jeopardy are the rest of the plants to get seeds? Or will the pollen only stay close to the flowers it comes from? I'm almost 6 weeks into bloom. Anyone got answers?

I’d kill the plant and watch the rest like a hawk. I’ve had a herm bust near other plants before and got away with it, but that’s not always going to be the case

Most of the time if you get just a couple and that late into flowering it’s not that big of a deal. Many elite strains are known for throwing a few naners here and there. Just pick them off and pay close attention. No reason to throw out good bud this late in the game. Then decide if it’s worth the hassle for next round or not.

I would pick off the nanners. If the stress is over. The nanners may stop too.

If you have seen them the pollen has already likely dropped. It does not stay active for long and moisture renders it useless.
Thanks. If the pollen drops, how long will it take to make seeds that are noticeable? Should I harvest just those buds early?

In addition, I have two fans blowing on high power in the tent. I'm freaked out and have a terrible feeling pollen has blown to every cola.

Seeds take a few weeks to mature. The pollinated flower will likely have its pistils turn dark prematurely.

The seeds cant hurt anything. Let the flowers mature. But keep looking for nanners to get them early as possible.

Nanners are the inside of a male flower which starts out as a ball that eventually opens in to a flower. The stamen inside that release the pollen are the nanners. They just grow from stress without the flower around them.

So if you see a well grown mature nanner it likely already dumped its pollen. But it may be weak or not viable at all. So keep picking till you cant stand it.

I grow thai/ diesel hybrids that nanner late in the cycle sometimes. Very few seeds are ever found.

But i had a sour diesel once that seeded up all over itself and the plant next to it. So there is risk involved.

My bad. Didn’t realize you were that late in the game when I recommended freakin out and killing shit.. guess I should pay better attention before runnin my mouth.

I’ve heard fans blowing too hard on the plants could make them herm. You might want to chill your windstorm out a bit. I find the bottom nugs get the blast not the nice colas.. but ya you could be in trouble there
