educate me--why the halide addition during flower?
I just wanted to try a 315 cmh lamp so i added one a while in addition to my 2 600 super hps.
So i did side by sides with those lights and a
hortilux 600w blue for a while too.
The cmh alone makes squatter shorter leafier plants but also look frostier. (No one could tell which was which bud though in blind testing with any regularity). It also brought out more color and sometimes a shorter finish by up to 5 days on known cuts. It also only barely covers a 3x3 area in an open room.
The hps caused more stretch. A larger plant with a 30% higher yield and denser less leafy buds. And a little less visible trichomes.
The
hortilux blue made the leafiest loosest buds but also more trichomes and color. Also shorter plants with more leaves that stay greener longer. The cmh too. But the blue covers more area easily.
But for flavor and effect none of us picked the cmh or blue regurlarly in smoke testing.
I could tell which was which by looking though. Cmh had higher bag appeal.
Hope this info helps.
