This is my first post on THCFarmer. My advance apologies, in the event I screw it up.

Me: Fun-loving professional editor and writer, former newspaper journalist, and USAF veteran. Enjoys classic rock and jammin' jazz, bocce, cycling, progressive politics, April 20th, smart writing, skillful photography, and cooking delicious meals.

So here's my situation. I'm now in Week 10 of my second grow. I'm growing one Indica-dominant autoflower and one Sativa-dominant autoflower. Both plants are doing well, and the Indica-dominant weed has some nice-looking colas that are beginning to fatten-up nicely.

But the Sativa-dominant plant has no colas or buds at all. The plant is very green, nice and bushy, with a lot of wide fan leaves and it looks quite happy. There is a lot of new growth going on all the time, but none of it ever evolves into buds. Only more leaves.

The seeds are from Royal Queen Seeds and were purchased from a reliable seller. I water the plants every day, feed them every few weeks, and I'm stymied about why the Sativa-dominant plant is not yielding anything that looks as thought it eventually become smokable. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong? I've included these two photos of some tops on the Sativa-dominant plant.

Thanx in advance.

Welcome to the Farm!!!! Great intro!!! This is a great place to get your feet wet along the way! Folks here can help you no doubt!

As far as your questions go… lots of pics of the plants close up and full plant in frame pics are very very helpful to the seasoned helpers of the site! : ) I cant help you at all because I know nothing about autoflowering plants other than the basics (they flower automatically) 😂 youll get some advice for sure! Good luck and have fun! Also, thank you for your service! ✌️

I grow autos and in my experience the sativa taking longer is normal. They don't always grow exactly as advertised. These killer heat waves in California have my plants about two weeks behind schedule but all is coming along nicely.

You wont get help here. Scum
Hey! I know people gave you a little shit, but it doesn’t mean you won’t get help. You posted a very clearly not weed plant asking for help with your auto flower. I understand you might of got offended but that shit was genuinely funny.

The help was given, maybe not how you wanted to receive it, but don’t try and pull other people down cuz you didn’t get what you wanted immediately.

Smoke a blunt, try again in an hour.

10 weeks and not flowering that's most prolly a photoperiod and not an auto, do happen once in a while
I was wondering about that possibility. If that's the case, what might you suggest? I'm growing the plants indoors, in bags and under daylight temperature grow bulbs 20 hours per day. So could I just carefully lift the one bag out from under the lights and place it in a dark walk-in closet for 8 hours a day? Or would it more complicated than that?

Thanx for your input! I appreciate it. 👏

Never grown indoors, but it sounds like it works? I put my plants outside in may, we were getting like 13 hours of sun, 11 dark, and some of them wanted to flower. If you can get one of your plants to have a solid period of uninterrupted darkness, you should be able to tell if it’s a photo or an auto.

But I also haven’t made it thru my first grow so wait for someone to confirm 🤣

If it's not going into flower, depending on how long your indica has left, I would keep your lights going and once the indica gets the old chop chop, switch to 12/12 and the sativa should go into flower. The sativa has more time to veg which should give you a bigger yield. This happens once in a blue moon with autos.

Thank you, Bear! I appreciate the welcome and the service respect (even if my service was several decades ago). I think I may well like it here. 🙂

You’re going to love it here!!! 😃

welcome 👋
she looks like photo in late veg
and what's the conditions in the closet? and how far auto is to finish?

happy news- such a long veg if it's photoperiod will give you nice solid colas.
I would wait, harvest auto and give photo care and proper flower while drying and smoking buds from the first one 😉
greets

I've recently had some seed problems with RQS myself. If after 10 weeks it's not flowering then the seeds are likely not auto flowers but photo periods. They require 12 hours of darkness to begin to flower
