I have a SUnPulse 1k watt 3k spectrum MH bulb... works OK but not enough red.

Sun Pulse HPMH stops at 400w according to their current webpage. You see these somewhere else or you talking about the pulse start?

An HPS lamp is approx. 2.2K,
