Someone on here mentioned using vinegar to lower soil PH and another said to use aluminum sulphate which will do it too. For a newbie what would be the safer bet? Thanks

I had/have slightly alkaline soil in my garden bed. Adding sulphur is another option for you. I haven't taken a reading in a few days, will do so Monday when I water in order to see if my numbers came down at all.

I’m new to soil, what would one consider a high ph in soil? I’ve read most don’t worry about checking it in soil unless there are problems.

aluminum sulfate will lower pH the fastest because it is most readily available. Peat moss is another good option but you have to buy the right peat moss.
