This is much easier if using straight liquid--you can slightly increase flow until the pressure applied is enough to force out the air from the top.

Here is a chromatography reservoir--the scientists solution to this (usually it will be attached to a flow rate controller as well as a valve closing both of these off from the column.

I just used a Honey Bee for a small 28g extraction of some shake that wasn't of the highest quality. I yielded 2.70g of oil. That is around 9%. I'm just a beginner in all of this but I from what I've read that isn't terrible for low quality material. Also, I did a similar extraction out of my friends glass tube and only yielded 0.8g off of 28g.

As for the Honey Bee being healthy - they claim it is made out of butane resistant material so it should be healthy.
