How am I doing? First Organic Grow.

Your biggest battle is organics in 5gal for autos. They are looking good but maybe a little behind. It takes a while for organic amendments to break down and become plant available so with this being the first grow in that soil and these being fast flowering, you may not be getting all the nutrients needed. Your next grow in that soil will be better. You also may wanna go up to 10gallon on your next run. It’s really difficult to get all the nutrients available in a smaller container in a shorter time frame. I’m excited to see how these turn out for sure, they do look healthy but the buds seem on the smaller side if these should be finished in 2-3 weeks. They look good if you have another 35-45 days. My understanding is with organics you want a minimum of 15Gallons, I had good luck in 10s so you should have no problem in a 10 but I wouldn’t go smaller on your next one.
Size of the pot and nute availability have nothing at all to do with each other concerning Gaia Green, Dr. Earth, Down to Earth and others. It's all timing. Now size of pot can stunt autos in a soil grow. They get root bound and they shut down. But autos if they have the nutes don't make pot displacing roots. Where the organics catch people out is the two to three weeks it takes for them to become available to the plant after feeding. If one gets behind on the feeding curve your screwed. I try and stay a bit ahead and look forward to a bit of nute burn knowing the soil is loaded. I just pulled a fresh root ball out of a 7 gal. Rain Science mesh pot and it would have truly been fine in a 3 gal. Rain Science pot. It was stunted,,, but not because of feeding or pot size. It was supposed to be a photo so it didn't get the auto treatment and it went through a major ph issue that was all my fault. The fact she produced what she did impressed me.

They say these last 5 weeks before running out. I read it takes at least a week for nutes to become available with organics so I too dress every four weeks that way when week 5 hits it ready to be consumed. If you have a better approach I am all ears! I’m just learning still

It sounds like instead of waiting until January 10th I should top dress this next watering. I last top dressed on December 10th. It is now December 31st. Let me know!

This is just a few days from original post. They are fattening up. Just to update the thread and you guys curious.

These Night Owls and Ethos genetics are nice.

You really want to get the amendments in there sooner than later. Your plants look really healthy, however with organics it just takes a long time for some minerals to break down, I.e. greensand which is in Gaia Green 444 takes over a year to become plant available so it is not beneficial in your first run or even 2nd. Keep reusing and reamending that soil and your plants will get better every run…

Feed now. Your at 3 weeks since last feeding. Gaia Green suggest a min of 1 week if your starting a new grow. The reality is it takes at least 2 weeks for it to start feeding the soil so the soil can feed the plant. And it's in the zone at 3 weeks. Go look at the Gaia Green feed chart they say feed every 2+ weeks. Some people feed sooner with less food or longer between feeding with more. For example if there feeding every 2 weeks they do 2 tbsp per gallon. If 3 weeks it might be 3 tbsp per gallon.

I watered tonight. When this is dry I will be feeding 30 percent 444 and 70 percent 284. Thank you

What is this? Nute burn? Does it need potassium? Or should I just water with a lower PH around 6.0-6.5? I’ve been doing 6.7/6.8

Thanks!

Oh hahaha, now I got you lolol
It was late at night haha

And thanks, I get worried because this has been an investment. Just Topes today with power bloom and a little 284

I’m assuming at least another 30-40 days until harvest?

I'm not as experienced as a lot of these guys in here but have had one of the best mentors on this server and to me ur plants look fine man one leaf here or there isn't any to worry about n it's looking like ur right on par with that maybe lil longer

Looks good man. You sure it’s first grow? Main lining isn’t as easy as some might think.

My first grow and I have a mainline plant....imo it's prob one of the worst training techniques that I've used or anyone uses imo I have a mainline one I topped regular LST and nothing it slows your plants growth down so fucking much just like a buddy told me can get same yield if not more outa scrog without butchering your plant and having to extend it's veg time by 23456days yeah they look cool and all but u rly gotta butcher ur plant n stress it out that much for why? I'll NVR do it again the risk isn't worth the time and the very minimum reward

I get huge yields off LTS. Thought I was wasting my time at first but it was a game changer. Saves space also. Only down side to it was sometimes the buds grow to close and you risk mold or rot. Learned the hard way! 🙄

100% LST but I don't get mainlining it's like butchering ur plant to extend veg for not much more yield...maybe I did it wrong?

Yeah, 100 percent my first time ever. I wanted to try it and now I will always do it. I have one mainline as in these pics, one LST’d and one topped. The mainline is the biggest one. Just make sure with autos you do it between days 12-16. If it’s not where it needs to be by day 16 only LST. I get hyperfixated on things, read a lot, do a lot of research then try to implement it. But yeah, wouldn’t lie to ya brother. This is my first time ever at growing and will now be a life long hobby.
