How are you monitoring your water levels?

I have a 30+ gallon tote, and looking for ideas on accurately monitoring the water level.

I've seen some folks plumb a small clear pipe vertically parallel to the res, so the water level will be externally visible. Googled around for other ideas, but didn't see anything I liked. How many of you are tracking h2o levels via some sort of metering system?

I meant the literal water level... the volume of water inside the res.

I use the 30cm one of these. The clear plastic is removable so yo can read about 8-10 of level change

Use a float valve mounted inside res. Done it that way before. They have good kits for that size that auto adjusts ph
