4" intake

I run my 8x4 with a 8" exhaust & 6" intake
My 2x4, 6" exhaust & 4" intake
I run passive on my 3x2 with a 4" exhaust

With the tents I run intakes on, I can set the exhaust and intake to the same speed and it keeps a perfect negative pressure because the intake fan is smaller.
You can of course get the same size intake as exhaust and just run the intake at a lower speed but you would be spending more money for same result.

Do you teally need an intake fan. I just open the bottom vents and let my 4" fan pull it in and exhaust it out the top

I like intake fans because I can control my environment more accurately because I can pull air from the lung room easier. The changes happen more quickly then with just an exhaust fan. It also keeps my exhaust from having to run over level 3. Everything is quiet, you would never be able to tell I have 3 tents going.

I also have 2 lung rooms, I can put my intake duct on grates that lead to another room so I can pull air from 2 different lung rooms (set at different parameters) for 2 different tents.

I'm actually working on running 2 ducts from each tent to each lung room and use electrical block offs that I can programming to my AC Infinity controllers so it can automatically switch between lung rooms depending on conditions.

Same. I get really quick air exchange on higher settings, but honestly even on lower settings it works great (6" with filter in a 5x5 tent).

Having said that, I opted for a 6" fan for my new 2x4x6' tent. The idea being I can run it on very low settings, and still move it to a larger tent if necessary. Common sizes make life easier when buying filters, hose, clamps, etc.

Hey Newty! : ) do you have any of this set up highlighted or documented in your other threads? I wanted to check this out without making you post a whole thing here lol.

I have 6” fans. With that said I wish I had of gone with at least an 8” as you can dial them back a little more power wise and they can make less noise and still have that pulling or pushing power. Not sure if that helps at all but some food for thought : )

It's only a sketch book idea right now, still have to do it. For now I move the ducts manually but I'll for sure post a DIY or something when I do!

That's a good point, the OP has a 6" already and could go with an 8" and move the 6" to the intake and put the 8" for exhaust.
Would have to buy a 8" carbon filter though, don't necessarily need the carbon filter on the intake side.

Ok please do! : ) I was playing around with the idea of some Y’s with auto baffles to control flow from different spaces and temps! So far I’m making it work as is but it would be cool to a e a little more control( and would be a fun project!)

My fans exhaust out the top of my tents and leave the bottom vents open all the time.

I don't see a need for two fans for smaller tents. If I were to use two fans, I'd use the same size running off a splitter from the controller.

So i wanted to change the subject if noone objects. Anyway, im in my 4th week. Just starting the veg stage im running at about 80°F and about 60% humidity during the day. I was wondering what everyone does to turn the heat down at night . Everything im seeing is drop the night time temps by about 10°to 15° F would that be about right.

How do you control your humidity when you’re moving so much air?

How do you control your humidity when you’re moving so much air?
With a humidifier, I use my humidifier in the lung room so my intake fans are constantly moving humidifier air into the tent.
I have my ACI controller shut the humidifier on and off at my trigger set points.
I only need to fill the humidifier 1 time every 2 days in the winter.
In the spring, summer, and fall I use a dehumidifier in the lung room.

I don't move so much air. I run the exhaust fans at low speeds and cycle them on and off. I don't see a reason to exchange the air in the tent every few seconds. Each of my tents has its own controller, heater and humidifier, so why would I want to condition the air in the tent and then blow it out?
