How close to keep 315w cmh light?

How close would you keep in seedling, veg, and flower stage?

I only had 42” in my veg tent but would have preferred 4’ for seedlings and the first couple weeks.

Then gradually reduce distance as i see plant likes it until peak flower at 18”.

This was in a sun system remote open vertical reflector with a phillips 3100k bulb.

It ended up being the same distance as my glass enclosed air cooled 600hps’. And combined gave best results.

Not til flower am I that close. I move them closer a little at a time.

18” at peak flowering.

I strap mine to the top of the room and let them grow into it but I’m on a table so I probly go from 48” at starts to 16”- 20” at the end.
