How do I know when to transplant?

ok, yep just leave it alone now, you won’t have to do anything,watering for at least 5/6 days including LST!
just check in on her and post any issues here.

more than likely it will not need any watering for close to a week, in stress it won’t look like she’s doing anything, all strains react differently too. yours might be quicker or slower.,

I have been tying down the branches just stopped for the transplant, Ill LST the branches again once its given a day or so from transplant. Thanks everyone for the help its great to have so many opinions available when i know what feels like jack shit. Time isn't an issue for me, i guess it would mainly be space. Is 15 gallons a good size for going out this summer? I have a lot of good seeds and i dont mind starting over. I know no plant will come out perfect on my first grow and that there is a massive learning curve. Once she is gone ill start more inside. I can switch it to flower at any real point right, so at what point should i switch it over? Im ok if it doesn't get full potential out of the 15-gallon pot, just dont know how big it will stretch and i dont want to run out of room

Hey hobble , good work , i have nothing against your 15 gallon move , just as long as you are prepared to give the plant time to grow into that large container , and it seems like your up for that , yea it will be a fine size for outside , but that depends where you are and how long it will be in veg before it goes to flower , nice root ball , so she should be happy now.....

Also , excellent instincts to just spray , mist soil till it suits your damp desires , i tell so many people to do this , so there are less incidences of overwatering , nobody wants to bother .... good work ,
It will be less and less of a concern in a few weeks when she really takes hold and starts drinking water , then you can bascially dump water by the gallon , just let it get a nice dry inbetween , youll be able to read your plant in a short time....
What are you growing in , ? Looks like a well aireated mix with perlite ....

Coast of maine, local compost, bone meal worm castings and extra perlite, it was slightly damp when added and i gave it a light watering after the transplant

Hey hobble , good work , i have nothing against your 15 gallon move , just as long as you are prepared to give the plant time to grow into that large container , and it seems like your up for that , yea it will be a fine size for outside , but that depends where you are and how long it will be in veg before it goes to flower , nice root ball , so she should be happy now.....

Im in northern Vermont, nights still get down to the high 30's right now. It wont be good to move outside till probably may or later. It rains alot up here in the summer and im worried about wind possibly blowing the plant over and mold, because by the time it gets around to july it will be 5-6 months old. I just dont know nearly enough even though ive been doing what feels like exhaustive research. Im ok with the plant not reaching its full potential, this is my first one. I have two unsexed week old seedlings that might be perfect timing to put outside, but till then im just focused on the bigger one. My main issue is I only have the one tent, and the big gal will be ready for flower long before the seedlings. Looking for advice on what to do with em. Outdoor space isnt an issue up here, just the cold. If i understand correctly, the roots will grow straight through the fabric?

ok , but now if your worried about running out of room ........
Then consider 3 or 5 gal next time indoor
But if you have only this one plant , you be ok , just train the shit out of it and give it a 4 to6 more week veg.....
Or whatever you feel , its for fun and anything you do will teach you valuable lessons , good luck...

This one is definitely my main focus for now. I will be training again once its recovered from the transplant maybe in the next couple days, above are the seedlings that are way behind, they might be the ones going outside

Southern mountain cheese. Cant find shit on the internet, these are from a local friend up here. Als othe two babies are Doc Cal x Big Hawaiian I believe but take that with a grain of salt because the guy can barely put his shoes on the right way hahah. He forgets names all the time but i agree the big one definitely looks stubby indica

Just take care of her inside till may , she will grow into a nice beast , 15 gal should be fine, although if i knew that was your plan ( going outdoors ) , i might have even suggested 20 gal !

yeah definitely, sooooo much soil. I think shell grow fine in the 15 outside just might be hard getting it out the door. How do people trellis outside? ive seen metal cages that some people use? How much yield differene will come from an 5 gallon? what are the benefits besides being able to grow more plants in the space ? Ive seen some people even grow multiple plants in the same pot if its large enough

1- multiple pots in a smaller size is a better idea , because if you screw up one big pot , your done , if you screw up 2 out of ten smaller pots you will have 8 more chances

2- more pots are better because you can experiment with multiple techniques and strains

3- multiple plants in one pot , bad idea , they struggle for root space

4- get a handtruck to get plant out the door , but you already know that....

5 - multiple pots better when you encounter pest problems

6- large pot requires more nutrient solution , and if you use , and the plant is too small , you will waste costly product

8- yield will depend an experience and skill , many experienced growers will pull out more bud from a 1 gal pot than some can pull out of a 15 gal , just get started and you will get a feel for yield
