1st of All there are many ways to grow in Coco.
The Answer depends on Several Factors, Mainly, Coco Build, Pot Size/Type, the Size/Health of the Plants....with some Other environmental factors to consider listed below, this is not an exhausted list, Light Intensities, VPD, sealed rooms or exhausted, Co2, water quality etc. as these will directly affect rate of Transpiration.
Building Your Coco to your Specifications based on what You Want to do? This Is Important to know before You Build your Coco.
If your Coco is built for Hi-Frequency Fertigation's, and the Plants are ready for it then Yes! Pound Them!
If you keep pounding plants in Coco with with Hi-Freq fertigation's that they cant handle they will become Oxygen Starved Very Quickly!
My Coco is 55/45 #4 Perlite, built for Hi-Freq, but when Plants are Small and still building a root structure I let them dry-back 40-50% before the next fertigation, The dry-back is what pulls in needed Oxygen back into the Rhizome by Capillary Action. This can Last till mid/late Veg. Usually by Late Veg(5gal pots) Im Pouring 1.5 gal per day, that gives me about .25-.35 runoff which is measured (ppm Ec pH), and used to calculate my next Nutrient Solution. I water 2 hrs into their Lights On, and next day at the same time I again Pour 1.5 gal. (5 gal "rain science mesh bags") the Coco is built to my style.
Ive also grown in 3 gal, coco built for Hi-Freq 50/50 #4 Perlite, then Im watering 4 times per 24hr period - they grow like beasts! I have also done this in 1 and 2 gal pots, these are timed automatic fertigation's, several per 24hr period, again, the plants will be beasts! For 9 years I ran Cash Crop x4-9 plant tables, flood and Drain, this is all timed execution, but is much the same. Cannabis Loves the Water!
There are also Many that run Coco and Wormcast, w/ dry slow release Organic Ferts, slower draining, sometimes in Slow Drying Plastic Pots, they treat them Like Soil and they grow Perfectly healthy and Fine, beautiful Crops. (slower than other methods but perfectly fine, lots of Oxygen in the Rhizo! still better than Soil!) These will not require daily waterings!
There are many ways to run Coco/Hydro.
flat answers of Yes Coco needs to be watered daily or multiple waterings daily without knowing your build should be viewed as a generic answer, a generalization. In generic terms Ill say this - never let Coco Dry, and/or never let it dry back lower than 40%, so depending on many things they may/may not need daily waterings.
@_B_ Your Coco is not built for Hi-Freq. Let them dry-back 40%, then water to run-off, take run-off readings, ppm/Ec should only be mildly higher than what Your Pouring In, Keep at it, once it all clicks You'll be Growing Bangers! Hydro Master Race! lol
