If you followed my link you would have seen this >

You screw it onto the jar with a lid and the hose attaches to the vacuum port of the machine.

Cheers
My sealer came with a cap that fit over the internal lid. It would suction the air out and then you used the outer ring to clamp the flat lid down. There was no screwing on the suction part. Is this how this lid in photo works?

Actually mine was the alternative white and blue one above the red one you linked.

"The suction part" is a soft rubber that needs to be lightly screwed on to form a seal.

Run a vacuum until the machine shuts off, unscrew the attachment and screw on the retaining ring.

My oldest jar was a year and a half old, when I last checked it was fresh as the day I processed it !

Cheers

Once dried correctly (not over dried) to about 62% rh, place in jar at about 80% volume with a hygrometer. Maintain the rh, keep in the dark at as close to 60F as possible ( I can only maintain 68f) after the curing process which is ; Burping Schedule, maintain about 62% rh and store in the dark at as close to 60f as possible
Week 1, burp twice a day for 15 - 30 minutes
Week 2 - 3, once per week for 15 - 30 minutes
Remainder once a month for 6 months for 15 - 30 minutes
I personally don't vacuum seal unless shipping in a smellproof bag and I have 7 month old weed that appears the same as when I put in in the jar. But everyone has their own preference.
Why are you continuing to burp "once a month for 6 months for 15-30 minutes" ?

All you are doing is losing moisture, unless your house rh is higher than mine ever gets (~50%)....

Cheers

The little bit of moisture I lose by opening an additional 6 times is minimal (and can be easily resolved with a half drop of spring water touched to the underside of the lid when closing and is monitored with the hygrometer that remains inside the jar.} I believe the smoke only gets better and smoother. Many award winning weed is burped for extended periods of time.
