Hi I started this thread to get a good idea of what the average thc farmer spends per month for hps lighting, So it might help other decide how many hps to use.

Really depends on your rates.

CA pays through the ass.

Might be easier to know what a 4k flower room and ancillaries (pumps, A/C, fans, dehuey, veg lights, etc.) use in KWh/mo, then you can figure out what the 'bill' would be.

I think a good rule of thumb is 2-3x your flower lighting, but it will all be different depending on individual setups.

:confused0054: Wow. It's much more around here. Depends on how much A/C etc is needed. I remember my first light was a 1000W that was supposed to raise my bill about $40. With fans etc. it went up 80.

My pge is .16 per kwh for the 1st tier, I don't ever go past that. Figure my 2 1000w hps lights, 2 400w, 2 120w fans, and 2 60w pumps run for 12 hours a day for 30 days at a rate of .16 per kwh.

• Watts per hour of each appliance ÷ 1000 = killowatt hour (kwh)
• Kwh per month = kilowatts × hours a day × days a month
• monthly electric bill = kwh rate × kwh per month

• (2×1000) + (2×400) + (2×120) + (2×60) ÷ 1000 = 3.16 kilowatts per hour
• 3.16 × 12 × 30 = 1137.6 kilowatts per month
• 1137.6 × .16 = $182.02 monthly electric bill

For the sake of argument, everthing is 12/12...

Like that.

I would assume veg/mother lighting and ventilation is 24/7.

Lol " someone must be on the care plan" lol that plan is the shit....they are basically asking a bunch of people to live in one house...use a shit ton of power and give a discounted rate. We rode that out in nor cal for like 1.5 hrs till PG&E wanted "proof" of everything. Needless to say we were ut out of the plan. We had 4k 2 4' t5.s 30k btu ac cloner, fans, plasmas ect ect bill was roughly 220 every month , and my roomates slept with their light on....weirdos.

Actually the care plan comment was sarcastic...

That is a reason others pay the crazy rates they do.

If you can't pay the bills with 4-6k op, then you are doing it wrong.
