How old is Grape Krush?

Greetings farmers!

Say, about 5 years ago, i got a clone of a strain which i think is Grape Krush.
I've almost surely confirmed this through reviews, pics, etc, but there's one thing that could make or break my preconceptions about it.

How old is Grape Krush?

Again, i got it about 2003 or so. I don't have any big corresponding events in my life for a reference, so i'm not really sure the exact year..... but 5 or 6 years sounds about right.

So, does anyone know when exactly Short released GK or what?

I think it was 2007.

When you say you are sure it's Grape Krush, have you actually grown GK? It's very varied and there is similarity between some phenos of GK and some of DJ's other lines, there is a Vanillaluna pheno that is very similar to a Grape Krush pheno for example.

No, i've never grown GK before.

I've been tracking this mystery strain down for years now, trying booglegum... and my buddy tried something else... though it's name eludes me at the moment.

The strain in question was say 75%-25% for indica, had very similar leaf and bud structure from pics i've researched online, was covered in crystal, strong in both mind and body buzz, yielded large and had an INSANE grape bubble gum taste and smell.
Over the years, it survived many a recloning and growroom transitions, as we were all still young and living situations were frequently changing.
It made it's way to it's present form, only as a cross from a poor NLxWW pheno.... though, you can still taste it's goodness!

This is a plant was a market killer....period.

BUT, if GK isn't old enough to be my sought after strain, then fucking boo-urns to me!

If GK is not it, i'm sure it's something rather close.

I don't think it was Vanilluna though, as it was "in ur face" grape goodness.

Grape Crush (drop the K) was a line done by quimik over on Cbay years ago. long before DJ offered his line. sorry i cant recollect the make up of the seed line, may have some cali-O in it. might be what ya have.

Grape Krush clones are always up at HPRC in arcata CA, dj bring the cuts there himself, I had a long and good conversation with DJ himself about the Krush on 4/21, he always is in humboldt, Ive seen him two or 3 times at the local dispenary and talked to him about genetics every time, he is a super cool dude. The krush is good but I like the killer phenos of the vanilla luna

I'm pretty sure DJ's grape Krush beans were released sometime around early 2005 . I remember they came out at the same time as TrueBlueberry , F13 , and others . I grabbed a pack of the TrueBlueberry at the time .

GK came out in 2005..I bought mine in 2006.Sat on em for a year..Grew em out..made some inbred seed..Used a super stud male to Pollinate a whole Harem of Ladies..haha!! Found a super heavy,resin coated Lady in my Line bred seeds.The offspring Females kicked ass over all the originals.The yields or pheno's we had from the initial seed were absolutely dismal..I almost shitcanned the whole Project.Thank god a very resinous male showed up..That changed the whole Game!! My advise with the Grape Krush is...You can't make 'Snap decisions' about this plant till you clone all given Females..and grow them till the end !! I'm so happy I made seed with what I had, otherwise this strain would have not made the cut with the original selections..Period. Now I'm looking at a 3inch tall, 2week old cutting that has resin on the Fan leafs under a 125w CFL..I just Wave and Smile..sitting on that sack of Seed.!!

Grape Krush is some bomb shit, one of my top ten smokes. Its a good balanced high, with everything right. The part I dislike is it sometimes makes me sleepy, which is good for relaxing but not watching a movie.

There is a grape koolaid strain supposedly from the SE but its name escapes me?

Best grape I've seen, not so purple, very resinous, amazing potency, back on 02-03 I saw it a few times. Ask leafreader if you see him... :character0111:
