Let's have a discussion. Let's upgrade our awareness for cannabis
I feel that flowers cannot be measured only by the strain.. but by the quality of the cannabis grown. Here are some examples , let me know what you guys think or have any other ideas to gauge the quality of the end product.
Smoking
How high do you go ( strength/thc)
How long does your high last?
Is it a pure high.. sometimes you get high off of impurities
No hangover
No headaches after
Do you feel the euphoric effects of the strain
There are so many different cannaboids (other than THC and CBD) that give you the effects of that strain
Oh , that's interesting. What does the ash look tell you about the bud? is it like a good slow burn? I've seen heavy white on some and nothing on some.
Also , what are examples of terpene profile / predominant terpenes?
Ash color can be an indicator of residual nutrients left in the flower material. A nice white ash is the goal. Sometimes it is grey, but when it is black, it hasn't been flushed well. If you've ever lit a bowl and it sparkled or snap crackle popped, that is the excess fertilizer. In those cases you typically get a lump of black coal at the end of the bowl.
Terpenes include myrcene, pinene, linalool, lemonene ect. They are not exclusive to cannabis and can be found all over nature. You can think of terpenes as the taste and the smell of the plant. There has been a great deal of research into how these terpenes actually effect / control / steer the direction of your high. Dr Ethan Russo has done a lot of work on this.
