Wud up Farmers, I just went on vacation June 1st-6th, about a week before June 1st I cut my plant and hung the buds for 3 days. The buds were dry on the outside and moist on the inside so I put them in brown paper bags for 3 days. After that I put them in plastic zip lock bags because they felt very dry (extra crispy) on the outside but still a lil moist on the inside. The next day I went to Florida for a vacation, I just got back on the 6th and my buds are still dry and crispy??? What the fuck??? This never happened to me before and considering the amount of time I spent drying (only 6 days) they should not be overdried. Last time I did this they came out of the bags normal, but this time they still feel very dry, so if anybody has any info on how to rehydrate or remoisturize buds or if you noticed a big mistake I made and how to fix it please let me know. I accept any and all opinions and/or facts, thank you all in advance.

jar it? seriously though, if you have a place with consistent 60-65ish rh and be patient, things could improve. If not check out humidipaks

I don't have any jars, they sell em at Lowes right?? I'll try that out I think it will help, if not, then I'll check out the humidipads. Thanks El C.

If there is still moisture inside the buds a few days in jars will bring the moisture back. If not take a q-tip and wet it slightly, tape it to the inside lid and close it up for a couple of days and bingo.

What I do is, Dry them in a cardboard box I have run strings across. (Pics incoming if I get the time) If I can put them in my indoor room thats at about 80 degrees and 45% RH. They dry out fairly quickly, I like to wait 5-7 days before moving them into a Mason Jar.

You can get Mason Jars from Home Depot, Lowes, Grocery Stores, etc just ask for jars for pickling :p. Proceed to leave those open for 48 hours. Then after the 48 hours put the lid on. Now Every day for three months I proceed to open the lid let it air out for 10-15 minutes (Maybe shaking it around to get new buds on top etc, sometimes dumping it out its up to you, a few pounds dumped out in my curing room is messy).
Do that for about three months and you will have one of the finest smokes ever.

You know what a mason jar looks like hopefully :p I wont post a picture of that.

*Also never place freshly dried buds a plastic bag if you care about quality.

If it's bone dry and simply jarring it up won't moisten it....dampen a small sponge or papertowel and place it in the bag/jar for a bit.

Orange/lemon peels are actually better, They wont promote mold growth.

I'm going to Lowes now to buy a few jars. I'll keep ya'll posted.

@Chobble-The cardboard box with strings across, I did the exact same thing last month and I kept it in my grow closet (above the light).

Since I'm going to Lowes I'll check out humidipads just to see how much they cost.

Haha you won't find humidipaks (with a K) at Lowes... Try a head shop or a cigar shop. Call and ask around or search online. They are meant for weed.

Or, simply a shot glass of ro / distilled water. Half hour to an hour, remove the shot glass and reseal the container. Check it in a few hours to make sure its not too moist. Burp as you would normally do if needed. Repeat tomorrow if needed.

Small and slow adjustments only

Qtip is a great idea on a small scale.

I don't have alot, it's only 2 zip locks full. I used three 1 qt. (32 oz.) mason jars. I filled them up 3/4 of the way full and taped a moist paper towel to the top of the jar. If that doesn't work I'll try the q-tip (if there's a difference).

I never heard of them until now. Thats why when I asked some guy at Lowes about them, he didn't know what the fuck I was talking about and he asked me what they were for. I said "uh...you know...the little humidifier pads?" I didn't know what to say :eek: Thats funny shit.

Ok since you don't have much, here is what I would do. First, check the inside of the bud, if there is any moisture at all you probably don't need anything except the jar. If no moisture, like dust, cut a q-tip in half and tape it to the top of the inside lid. Moisten it and close the jars for a couple of days. Oh, only fill the jars about half way. When the buds start to feel spongy take the q-tip out and burp every few days. I think a paper towel in a jar that size is too much. You will be surprised how the q-tip works.
