just wondering how I will wire this timer so my 1000 watt hps can run. the timer only has 3 screws you attach wires too, no where to plug my ballast into or a power cord for the timer. so my question is, how do I wire this up? do I get the male and female plugs and wire it into it and plug the hps into it and use the other for power to the timer?

Are you running a single 120 volt 1k hps on it? If so, you can get by with a 14 awg extension cord and (2) 1/2 inch romex connectors.

All you have to do is remove 2 of the knockouts on the timer case and install the romex connectors. Cut the extension cord in half and put each end through one of the romex connectors and tighten them down. Connect both ground (green) wires to the green ground screw, both neutral (white) wires to the 'A' lug, the hot (black) wire from the male end to the '1' lug, and the hot wire from the female end to the '2' lug.

Plug the male into the wall and your ballast cord into the female and your set.
