This thread has taken a negative nose dive between the BS with Clean Green and big money making a move. There are just so many things setting me off right now and it is easy to find plenty for me to rant about. It is really motivating me to want to work on shaping how we want our industry to be. Getting strong headed growers to work together is a bit like herding cats but I think there is enough motivation right now to get some things done. I sometimes feel like I am very reactionary and learning about things like the above really get my blood boiling. Of course we can't fire bomb any one, we need to find other ways to deal with this. We need to appeal to our local governments and show them that they don't need to look to Oakland for a model on how to do things. Our communities are intelligent and creative enough to come up with our own regulations.
Okay back to the farms and some positive vibes. Took some pics yesterday. Everything is growing nicely even with all the rain last week. Things should explode with the coming hot weather. We did a foliar spray of some secret magical compost tea this morning that we just got turned on to and hope to see some instant results.
Here is my other collective project manager. We have been encouraging him to join the forum and he will be joining us soon. He said he is just too tired at the end of the day to even tap buttons on the keyboard. We have about another weeks worth of big push and then hopefully he can get a little rest. He is a good friend of mine for 10+ years with even more growing experience than that and I am thrilled to have him running one of the farms this year. He is so self driven and doesn't slack or cut any corners. I have been so impressed with the guy this year. He is going to be breaking world records for how much cannabis one guy can grow in a season.

I agree with you HL because its happening in Colorado also, on a legal and a business level. This new bill HB-10 1284 has passed and is awaiting signature approval and without getting to in depth, seeing as patients have not seen a final copy of the bill, it will take the emerging medical scene and push it back underground by making it nearly impossible to start new businesses without huge investments just to cover the cost of a grow license for more then 5 patients or 36 plants making it so that only the biggest will survive. There needs to be a conference of sorts every year that would consist of industry, medical, legal, and agricultural specialists as well as your home growers caregivers and patients that meet and discuss the development of the industry. Because something must be done..

Some thoughts on strain hoarding

Some people are very against strain hoarding and I believe in that to a point. On the other hand now that we gave all of our strains away to the big collectives we have lost a lot of control of our industry up here. Now they make terrible crosses, water down the gene pool, mislabel and distribute clones. Things that were once valuable and would have ensured a thriving business up here for a long time to come, are now being pimped out en masse. I am going to be sharing my work with the community when the time is right but there is also some stuff that I feel needs to be protected from large entities that would just take advantage of it.

Those hoop-houses are ingenious. I may borrow that idea next season. They seem to allow more efficient use of space and better plant layout. Are those hanging CFLs to maintain the photoperiod early season?

dh,smokey, seed, thanks for the support and checking out my farms.

Hey 500lbs, yes the cf'sl keep the clones from going into flower so I can get them vegging outside early. I would like to have gotten them out even earlier actually. We have a few that we planted in the last couple days in their final holes without supplemental light and they will hopefully keep vegging away. Trying to get all the rest of our clones in the ground this next week. Still have over a hundred clones that need to get in the ground and another 18 300 gallon smartpots we need to get filled and planted. The weather is beautiful though and we are really enjoying the work so life is good.:sun

Nice HL...looks like your hard push is nearing its end and time for a small rest......now that weaher permits me ..I can start my garden outsoe......hoard strains who cares...I'd rather they not get into clubs, as you have said too many have been abused....I am more interested in aquiring what special stains I can through networking.....I also like new things and have gotten abit tired of the purples......I'd like to start some projects soon working with some untested varieties and see what some patients like..then go from there for the patients.
Of course I am no way an experienced or pro grower, or can I ever match these #'s you do , but it is fun to dream!!!
Looking great..cant wait to see those ladies in a few months...how soon it will probably be here too!!!!!

Here is a great article about my doctor Dr William L Courtney. He is on the forefront of the movement to treat people with high CBD strains. His big thing is juicing the fresh leaf and drinking it throughout the day. We met recently and he told me that now he is getting into juicing whole huge kolas. He said you get a ton of CBD's but no THC because the THC has to be heated to have any effect. You want to use a bud that has not had the glands turn amber yet. If juicing just the fresh leaf use at least ten large fan leaves. This stuff has amazing healing properties.

Got some pics of the new garden we are putting in. It is going to have 18 300 gallon smart pots with 2-3 plants in each one. Why not? We have a lot of great looking females that would be a shame to not grow out. There is a lot of room to expand in this garden but we will leave that for next year.
We decided to do a little soil comparison. Half of this garden will be Roots Organic and the other half will be Black Gold. We will be adding 2-3 gallons of high nitrogen bat guano to each pot. We want to be able to mix this soil and plant right away. If the weather cooperates we should have it mixed and planted by the end of the week. I had to do a little excavator work to get this site flat but that is always a lot of fun. We also ran our water line to the site today.

Here is brother Nomaad's Blue Dream. Finally past her shock and coming to here senses. I was a little worried about putting her out without supplemental light but she is fine.
