Yes, co2 increases quality as well... denser buds.

With a controller like the chhc-1 or igs-220 you'll be able to control your temp, humidity and co2 at the same time. It's a big initial outlay in cash, but you'll get it back in one cycle, I promise.

For now, you can put a speed control on your can fan as well. It's not ideal, but a $5 dimmer switch at home depot works as long as you don't try to run the fan at too low of a speed... or run the fan on a thermostat, you can get a line-voltage t-stat at Grainger for about $25.
That's a good Idea, have one to control my heat mat for my clones.

Room temp 73 Humidity 50, fan circuating air, drying slow, room is dark and smellin dank, seems perfect. Humidity without humififer 25 gott to be too dry...

Chickenman, are them thar thangs in the corner RECORDS? Yer datin' yerseff, fella! ;)

All kinds of good music in those boxes. Love to hit Denvers Wax Trax used record store, tons of great stuff cheap, and the analog quality blasted thru my old school 4 Cerwin Vega very LOUDspeakers, 2 AT 12s and 2 AT 15s totaly rock.
Building a mancave will have turntable rockin out...

sh, sounds like you don't use jars in the final stages. Are you just using the turkey bag and no sack? I have noticed that after being in the sacks for a while the buds actually start to smell like the sack. I move them into jars when they don't get that spongy feel after 2 days and then the final smell/taste starts to come out and after a week of burping the jars. I try to cure for 30 days it seems to be ripe about then.

I used jars for awhile but then I realized I had to have like 50 of em to jar up each harvest....

no sacks. Just bag and burp...

Right about the jars, don't have 50 but to many to count. Interesting on the sacks, thought that the sack helped wick moisture from the buds. You must burp a lot. How long do you cure using this method?

I never got into using paper sacks.

It's less work to burp in the bag than in the jars. I have a spot that I lay it out in the bags and don't have to disturb it.... and then I open the bags everyday for a week or so and intro fresh air until everything is where I want it. Then I put another bag around it and seal it up. The only times it gets opened after that is every few days when I reach in and grab a large handful for my own personal use.

"Curing" times are basically harvest-to-harvest here. By the time I'm readying to take another crop down I'm usually digging into the last bag. I'm not one who enjoys a long. long cure for the most part. If stuff gets more than 6 months old I usually find someone in need to give it to.

but everyone does it/enjoys things differently. If I only had an OD crop and needed to make things last over the year I'd probably do it completely different than I do now.

puff, puff, pass.....

I try and keep a new harvest in cure for 30 days if possible. Goes away fast after that. I have had some Chemdog around once for 6 mo and the taste just kept getting better and better. It's interesting how it changes over time, for example, harvested some cherry lime ak on Oct 10th, so today it's been curing for 42 days. This strain started smelling like cherries 3 weeks into flower and never lost that sweet taste and smell even during the first two weeks of curing. I sampled on a regular basis and loved everything but no lime sensation. Finally after 30 days I noticed a lime taste on the exhale. Just burped the jars this morning and there is still a strong cherry smell but now a hint of lime comes through. Makes me wonder how many people don't give their meds a chance to truly ripen before it's all smoked.

I found some gallon jars online finally and use them with a hygrometer. There are very few people who cure properly.

5g's do work good, and those lids seal pretty damn good. once the nug is perfect then into a vac seal bags.

Is the lack of humidity the reason CO buds lack any substantial flavor / scent? I find it so much more difficult to find through-and-through well cured weed out here.

Lol, it's not CO... it's your shitty connections! :sign0065:

Hmmm... been curing the last batch for 27 days now and if I don't burp the jars the buds rehydrate themselves! If thats not humidity wtf is it. I love California the bay area is one of my favorite places to visit but you guys and your egos. Oh well, it amuses me.

Working well drying at 70 with 50% humidity..Nugs, Black Diesel, are in turkey bags well manacured, just after mid bend stem snap and smell great. HUGE difference drying at 70/50 55 humidity.
Will cure out for a few weeks.
Got a nice pound from that hanging, will hang on to it for rainy day headstash...
Thanks all for input, CBF Your deAD on....CM

Dorje, just wanted to let you know I took your advise and put a speed control on my fan, it works great. Not before I added an extra heat vent. It worked as well but the grass started growing again in the back since I was dumping so much heat out the back of the house. Thanks for the idea. One question, seems like the ventilation is fine, but if not, what should I watch for?
