. im currenly trying to re route my HW tanks exhaust i want to set up my chimney to vent lights but i have to re route my HW tanks exhust they share the chimney . so i routed the HW exhaust to dry vent at side of house it seemed to work but after 10 mins the tank wast heating and pilot was not lit anymore . so i guess air blew in nd blew it out . im going to make bigger space between tank nd exhast opening hoping the air coming in wont blow it again i have a 4in damper as well but i dunno if thats right either , will the tanks heat be enough to force open when needed? . but i dunno is this wrong nd un safe or can this work ? thanks for your time any advice ?
