I don't mean to come off as a dick, but as the thread states the topic here is Hydroponic Research.......Not NPK Industries....or Emerald Harvest. What a difference a day makes!
Since my back up plants under the 8 bulb HOT5 decided to blow up (in a good way) over the last couple days + the 2 plants in my DIY Mini Me F & D are also exploding, the side wall was getting overcrowded.
I needed to add another bubble tote, which I had to place sideways (forming an L). To do this I needed 2 more 4" air stone discs. I also wanted to check out NPK Industries dry nutrients to use during flower, so I made a trip to my local hydro store. The owner was there (he and I have had a few discussions over the years) along with SunLite rep, and fortuitously, the president of Emerald Harvest, a nute company I had not heard of
After a 20 minute conversation with him about dry vs liquid and the importance of using 'live' water to mix, I left with Cali Bloom A & B, and will be gifted their bloom and rooting additives.
This morning I replaced the nutes from my 2 other tents with Cali Bloom as all 3 plants are blooming. Also I rigged up the other tote and moved a couple plants into it, and, I also defoled most of the biggest primary leafs.
I suggest you check out their site to see why I am so excited
I have 2 pounds of HR V+B which I will use for vegging, but not anymore for flowering
Check out my T5 LED Grow Thread
@Onetwothree , i feed, feed, tea, and repeat with no problems. This line will not hurt your beenies. Its a blend of synthetics and organics.
While I'm not a peat or soil guy, this would probably be your best bet. Slowly ramp it and if you see any burn, flush and back off. Thanks man...so when I get rocking with the V+B, should I be keeping an eye on my ppms before feeding, or just slowly build up to the suggested 5grams/gallon?

I'm sorry you think it's a bad line for flowering......but when I get flowers like this......I think the opposite.

Great looking, but honestly, no better than I have done using V+B through to harvest for several years.
My issue is how much better will our girls be when fed the right diet?
It's common knowledge by those who understand the need for different salt requirements during flower.
Therefore, "I" have serious doubts that we're reaching our girls full potential unless we use a specific bloom nutrient.
Sorry, I thought that would be important to anyone using any nutrient
I'm done here, but anyone is welcome to come by my thread (Hail Hydro) and watch
Peace out
they say to use +size for foliar in veg. i was wondering if u have tried that? Thanks,
So while V +B would appear to be used throughout (and I have before getting +Size (replaced with Shine and Push), which has some Sulfur along with PK 11/11 WTF?
Since sulfur is a bloom booster, shouldn't V +B have a lot less sulfur for vegging, AND, how do we overcome the increased N as we ramp up ppms for flowering?
i agree bro! its the best flower food i have ever used though and will always use it. for veg i have found that using maxi gro and a couple additives and V+B dirty for flower gave me far superior results then using V+B all the way.Adding Shine greatly tweaks the N ratio. Plenty of people run Lucus formula all the way through. I think VandB is better at growing flowers than vegging but whatever. It works, it pushes resin, it stacks great, it's cheap and it's simple.

Coco.....no runoff.....fed V+B HD
I actually don't push things to tip burn like I used to. I just run a lower ec than I would if I were watering to runoff. I also give them a day with just tea and Heavy 16 Finish. That's impressive. Did you have to flush at all? Or just bump up the ec until you got some tip burn and roll it back and keep it there. No runoff gives me the heebie-jeebies, but I've seen many have success with it.
CelticEBE, note the information in italics. I have experienced this and scratched my head why, until now
FYI RE: Nitrogen
'However, a plant’s tendency to store nutrients increases during the bloom phase. All through flower production, the focus is on building up stores of energy and nutrition for seeds. Thus, too high a dose of nitrogen in densely packed floral tissues leads to predispose blooms to botrytis and thus prone to attack by insects and pest. Also, excessively high nitrogen levels delay maturation by weeks and reduces accumulation of sugar, dipping aroma and flavor. So, keep a check on the concentration of nitrogen through proper measurement and analysis and adjust the levels accordingly for better yields and harvests'.
